According to the Suns Twitter page posted at 10 AM:
"The Suns will hold a press conference at 12:30 PM today to announce a free-agent signing. Watch live online at Suns.com"

I think it's for Goran. He sent out a message on his Facebook page yesterday saying his new jersey will be #1 or something like that.

this team and management is a complete joke if it's Dragic

EDIT: it's already a joke, nevermind.

I'm wondering if the press conference will also include Beasley. It's obvious the press conference is for Dragic. Sarver mentioned both as additions to the Suns at halftime during the summer league game last night.

If they do not include Beasley... why not?

Good press conference. It seems Alvin Gentry was a huge factor in enticing Dragic back to the Suns.

Per Paul Coro on twitter, Beasley's press conference is likely to be tomorrow. I can't believe the Gordon's physical is still playing havoc with the Suns. This has gone on too long.

@KingLouieLouie Beasley's press conference was held up for the Gordon physical in N.O. Expect Beasley to be introduced in Phoenix tomorrow.

I can't see the players assoc. being OK with this. All this foot dragging to punish the Suns also serves as a deterrent to future teams that want to sign restricted free agents thus rendering "restricted free agency" a joke.

Its become a way for teams to get out of giving their good players a max contract. Thanks to the Suns NO gets to pay Gordon a lot less overall than they could have if they resigned him.

I can see this being an issue the players bring up. Ridiculous

I don't recall this ever happening before when a team is held up by a physical for so long. I wonder if there is something unique to this situation that hasn't been reported.

Just a guess, but my thought is that N.O. dragged this situation out in every way possible. If so, I cannot remember an organization being this vindictive.

So, what if he doesn't pass? Are we stuck with him?

The Blazers have been involved in some contentious RFA situations with the Jazz and now Wolves but I don't remember being any additional delays. I'm curious if the Wolves have their cap space available now or if they are waiting on Batum's physical.

I dont really see this physical thing effecting the Suns much. They can still negotiate contracts that will be official when CBA conditions allow, just as they already did with Beasley and Dragic. If a free agent was still on the market that they had the hots for they probably would be talking to them and potentially negotiating terms, just like they did with Mayo.

Free agency has just slowed after its frenetic opening.

I still cannot understand why the team matching the RFA should not be required to give him a physical during the waiting period or even before. They had the rights to him as a RFA so the onus should be on them. If they match the offer sheet it seems to me, they should be indicating all is well. I think this rule needs to be changed.

I do not have enough information to comment on the Jazz, Wolves and Blazers.

I agree the delays have had no impact on the Suns, it doesn't mean it is a practice the NBA should tolerate. What if there is a trade in the middle of the season but the players can't play because one team is dragging ass for a week or more to do the physicals?

But I think it did affect them. Because of Gordon's offer sheet still counting against the Suns cap after NO matched, the Suns didn't have enough cap space to claim Scola and had to amnesty Childress when Scola was awarded to them. I believe that had it not been for Gordon, Childress would not have been amnestied, at least not yet. And if the Suns don't hand out any more large contracts, then it's quite possible that Childress would have been in Phoenix for at least one more season.

I keep wondering if this was a blessing in disguise. I know the Suns are short in number at SF but Childress needed to go IMO. The Suns need to move forward with a different cast of players for the most part. As I understand it, it should clear more CAP space if the Suns decide to use it (in addition to not signing Gordon). I know part of it was used to sign Scola.

There was a deadline on the 17th for teams to use their amnesty provisions this year. So, unless they felt like they were totally done making outside players contract offers and didnt care about that cap flexibility during the season, Childress was toast either way.

And just to avoid confusion. Yes, the amnesty provision is a one use thing (at least until there is another lockout/strike), but there is a dead line during each offseason for teams to decide if they want to their one time provision. That deadline was the 17th, and I would imagine its placed there so the released player would still have a reasonable amount of time to find a new team before everyone fills out their rosters. Also, only players under contract before the new CBA was adopted are allowed to be amnestied. So, clock was ticking. If they wanted to get much use out of the option it probably needed to be used this summer.

Keep in mind that although Childress doesn't count against the salary cap it does count against the cap when calculating the cap floor for your team. So we don't have to spend any more money if we don't want to. Well, we still need to add 2 guys, but technically they could be minimum salary guys and we'd still be at the floor once Beasley signs.
