Found this breakdown about him predraft.

The Mountain West Player of the Year, David Roddy emerged as a star in college basketball. As a junior, Roddy averaged 19 PPG, 7.5 RPG, 3 APG, 1.2 SPG, 1.1 BPG, and 2.3 TOPG on shooting splits of 57/44/69. Below is his full scouting report:

Name: David Roddy

Height/Weight: 6’6/261

Wingspan/ standing reach: 6’11 ½/8’9

Hand size: 10

Position: F

Pre-Draft team: Colorado State

Tools: Feel for the game, shooting, rebounding

Pros:

  • Quick leaper
  • Quick jump shooter with projectable form
  • Skilled out of the post
  • Plus rebounder
  • Strong feel as a passer; can be a play initiator
  • Long arms
  • Can finish above the rim; efficient at the rim
  • Strong instincts
    Strong fadeaway/spin jumper
  • Tight handles with a variety of dribble moves
  • Comfortable with his left hand
  • Good finisher at the rim

Cons:

  • Tweener with awkward position/play style combo
  • Lacks explosiveness in speed; doesn’t blow by defenders
  • Needs to prove scoring ability without post-ups
  • Subpar defensive recovery ability
  • Limited in closeouts; can jump too easily on closeouts
  • Needs to improve his body and slim down to defend better

Summary:

David Roddy is a unique player that is hard to evaluate due to an awkward blend of size/length, play style, and athleticism.

Roddy’s shooting seems projectable, with good form, a high three point percentage, and ability to score both from mid range and three point range. However, his free throw percentage has only been north of 75% one time in three years at Colorado State, which could be a sign that his shooting is a bit of fools gold. One reason that he might have inflated shooting percentages is because he has mastered manipulating defenses going under screens against him. In the NBA, where most defenders go over screens, he will have to adjust by hitting contested shots regularly and successfully.

Defensively, Roddy was hidden a good amount in his time at Colorado State, until teams found out that he was being hidden against perimeter drives. Roddy lacks strong recovery ability, which in turn forces him to fly by shooters often, which puts the defense in a constant state of panic/recovering elsewhere and needing to be perfect the rest of the possession. Because of this, and despite his length, I project Roddy to top out as a neutral defender in the NBA.

While Roddy is a good finisher at the rim and can pass well, there are noticeable limitations to Roddy’s game in translating up to the NBA. His feel for the game will be key in keeping him afloat in the league, but thriving in a low usage role seems to be his best outcome in the NBA. The impact of this role varies depending on where he gets drafted to, but playing him as a small ball power forward instead of a wing will be important to unlocking his full upside.

Similar to: Smaller Rui Hachimura

Projected draft range: 26-undrafted

Expected role: Mid range specialist with potential to create his own three point shot and shots for others as a playmaker.

Unplayable if: Defense limits his game translating, and his tweener status offensively doesn’t translate to a role player responsibility

I don't mind what we gave up minus Metu. I would have really wanted to keep him.

Suns give up Metu, Goodwin, Yuta, KBD as part of these moves.

By the way, this means Okogie and Little who were the hot names listed in most rumors are staying. Sounds like the Suns didn't want to give them up. The additions, and keeping them were more valuable to the Suns then sending 2nd rounders and Metu, Goodwin, Yuta and KBD.

And Paul George cooked both those players. Shouldve added Torey Craig, he put the clamps on George

We do have some empty seats now, and 10+mil to spend in the buyout market.
Anyone know if we still have that cash available?

Its not that we have cash available. We can only sign someone who is bought out if their salary is less than $11m or so. We can only offer the veteran minimum.
