Izzo connection + pressure to win a title + new owner syndrome + Isiah behind the scenes = potentially irrational decisions

Coming on the heels of Sarver, they couldn’t make a move any more disgusting if they tried.

He is the same height as Okogie and he does a pretty good job when we put him on other opposing offensive scorers. That's how O'Neale is being used right now. He usually faces the other teams best scorers.

The thinking might be if we have two of those types of players we shouldn't have a drop off when Okogie goes to the bench. We now have another option. Theoretically it should make our defense more consistent.

I know BBRef lists him as 6'4" but I don't buy that. He's listed as 6'6" on ESPN and NBA.com as well as the Nets media guide. I think BBRef made a mistake. He's played PF most of the last 6-7 years and he's not stocky so I'm not buying that he's the same height as Okogie. He's taller. I vaguely remember him being 6'7" or 6'8" before the league cracked down on heights a few years back.

One thing that I think may sway this whole thing is Ishbia promised this would be a family oriented organization, from the workers, to players, to fans. You really can't say you are a family organization if you bring this guy in. Also, we all know agents, etc, muddy the waters. Have we really been that serious in pursuit? James Jones keeps a really tight lid on stuff leaking. I have to think this is agent oriented BS intended to raise the value of his guy.

In terms of punishment, I tend to leave it up to the criminal justice system to decide these matters.

True. Not sure how that applies to what I said?

I'm not sure why the Suns shouldn't be considered a family oriented organization if they decide to give him a chance.

However, the pending court hearing is of concern. We don't know what will happen.

Already on this board we are seeing how guys are reacting negatively. Just imagine how the women fans would feel bringing in a domestic violence person. EVERYONE desperately wants that first championship. Some already feel it would be tainted because we brought KD in. How would they feel bringing this guy in to win our first Championship? Especially if he later found guilty and sentenced to time in prison?

If the Suns won a championship, fans are going to have short memories.

The Suns went through something similar with Jason Kidd, although the charges were a misdemeanor as I recall.

Now he has a championship with Dallas.

True, but Kidd didn't have the details coming out that this guy does.

I remember the french fries.
Throwing billiard balls at a car containing your wife and children is not a good look. That was just one incident. Being Hangry is no excuse, but Kidd's police report didn't compare to this guys.

I believe the matter in bold is still pending.

That's what scares me. He could do some time. You trade for him, he may not play.

This is a legitimate concern, especially if the Suns don't know something we don't.

If Mat Ishbia is willing to pay the money, there is not much downside except public outcry. He would only be a rental.

Even better. My focus wasn't so much on his height as the role he plays which is similar to Okogie.

IMO, Jason Kidd has no business in the league. However, we are talking about the same league that seemingly has forgotten about Kobe's incident the second he passed away.

Exactly. Fans have a short memory, especially if you win.

Generally speaking, I am with you, but in this case, there is just too much evidence for me to get on board with Bridges.

I'm surprised the Suns have been mentioned as a destination for Miles Bridges, but I'm not going to kick and scream if they go after him. Some other teams have been mentioned as well.

However, since his new court date is February 20th, after the trade deadline, it's risky business.

If the Suns are all-in on winning a championship, I can see where they would be interested. However, the court will ultimately decide.

I suspect the Suns will only pursue Bridges as a last resort, if they can't make another desirable trade. They might even look at free agents and buyouts as well.

After the season, the new CBA rules get even tighter.

Kobe incident was not nearly as clear as Miles' incident(s). I find it plausible that Kobe had a one night stand or an affair, and the other party decided to make some money off of it. With Bridges, it's really not a "he said, she said" type of a thing- we know he beat the crap out of his partner in front of their kids, and then ended up doing more stupid stuff afterwards. I am not saying Kobe was squeaky-clean, but it's a bit different than what Miles did.
