I didn't watch the game but how did Suns lose this game?

Looks like we shot really bad (comparing to the previous 6 games).

Nash got tossed? Geeze.. I've never seen him get tossed out for the past 2 years. What did Nash do?

Memphis did their best Utah impression and the refs called the game like Memphis were the SA Spurs. They hacked, grabbed and hand-checked Nash all game long without a single call in Nash's favor. Actually that could be said for anytime the Suns tried to go inside. Amare constantly got hit by 2-3 guys with no calls. The whole game was just bullsh*t and Nash couldn't take it anymore and blew up an official (who deserved it because he didn't do his job all night long). I wish D'Antoni would've done the same earlier in the game so maybe the physical style would've gone away.

It didn't help that Q & Jim Jack couldn't hit thier shots and even Marion couldn't make an outside jumper. JJ & Amare were the only guys shooting well despite the hacking.

I expected this loss and the ensuing jbeecham rant against the officials to follow(do you just cut and paste from the same post after EVERY loss - I mean -according to you we should be 46-1).

I don't want to see this Memphis squad in the playoffs - AT ALL.

As far as Nash getting T'd - he bitched about a close-call - deserving the first T, then continued to yell at the ref and got the second T - of course, we went into complete meltdown mode after that - but he got what he deserved.

Dahntay Jones is a career 26% shooter from three-point range, but tonight he was 4-4 from distance. Overall, Memphis shot the ball uncharacteristically well, even considering the Suns' poor defense. Sometimes that's going to happen.

It wouldn't have mattered if the Suns had been permitted to operate offensively. As we saw during Nash's injury, however, the team really doesn't know how to get good shots when their main offensive attack is derailed (by whatever means).

Johnson had a great game, particularly in the third quarter, when he single-handedly kept the Suns alive. It's too bad it went for naught.

- Memphis hit some huge shots. They simply could not miss for a long period in the 3rd, went cold for a couple minutes, and then heated back up down the stretch.

- Give it up to them. Some of the guys that played well, are lucky to be collecting NBA paychecks.

- This was the type of game in which PHX needed to put the wood to them early. Instead, they let them hang around.

- Nash struggled at times with the ball. His carelessness with splitting the defenders and throwing alley-oops caused some unneeded turnovers.

I though PHX actually played better (at times) with Nash riding the pine. That's encouraging.

- Not a bad loss in my mind. Memphis won't play like that again for awhile. A good "soul cleansing" loss.

- The move in which Amare bullied Swift out of the way and dunked on him was just sick. I thought Stromile was going to curl up in the fetal position and ask for his mommy.

Just got back from the game, and have a few thoughts:

-We need to keep Joe johnson around. he was the only suns player who was agressive and created a lot of his own shots. He is a pure shooter. His agressivness really impressed me tonight.

-Stop shooting jumpshots!! Amare is getting a nice J but took way to many down the streach. the suns have too good of athletes to just sit around jacking up threes all day. i think Q could get by most defenders, if he wanted to.

-Nice game from Amare 22 points 19 boards.

- the steve nash ejection....umm....don't know what he said to the ref, but it was something about goaltending. maybe it was in canadian:) looked like goal tending to me.

-memphis has some good role players, but their defense is really a lot of grabbing, slapping, and creative ways of slowing down defenders without being caught. Gasol, Posey and Bonzi wells were out. we should have won
but memphis shot very well late in the game.

-the half time show featured the "suns gorilla" (not the real one)with an old barkely jersey on. he was beating all these kids in a tug of war, and they came and de-pansed him, while he tried to fight the grizz mascot.

-awesome arena, not such a good game. looking forward to the next one here.

Nash bitched because his last shot attempt was goaltended, and it wasn't called. That ball was heading down. Nash was right. I really don't think he deserved that first tech, though, clearly, he deserved the second. . In any case, he should have looked towards his inner-Canadian.

What's really crazy is that Antonio Burks kid. Those back to back 3pt makes were the first two 3's he's made all year.

Just one of those nights, I guess.

Hopefully this game sets a fire in Nash, and he torches Sam Cassel and Timberwolves tomorrow. I'm calling it: 22 pts and a career assist-night tomorrow for Nash!

Considering that his entire NBA career before last night consisted of 65 minutes of playing time, during which he was 0-3 from three-point range, that's not quite as impressive as it sounds.

Bad loss last night. We just got out played. I could see Amare taking playsoff becouse all we would do is shoot 3's and then he wouldn't even get his hands up on D on the way back and let his player get great possition. If Amare wants to be the best player he need to put much more effert into D side of the ball. So times Coach Mike doesn't take control of the team enough at least tell them not to shoot so many 3's and get the ball downlow to Amare. O'well time for the Wolves.

Well.... I just read that Nash got tossed out 3 mins before the end and Suns was 7pt behind.

7pt behind is very "catchable" within 3 mins.

I won't say if Nash stays in the game, we would win but the chance with him being in the game is so much higher. Overall, Nash has good 3pt shooting which we need to catch up (when Q and JimJ were cold).

Nash got tossed out for the FIRST time in his NBA career. That tells you last night isn't a very bad loss... just an unexpected loss at Griz' HOME COURT.

This seemed like one of those "no f'n way" games. The Suns missed shots they normally hit, Memphis players hit shots they normally miss, and the officials allowed Utah-style defense, which had Nash turning it over left and right.

If this is a playoff preview, the Suns will be in for a tough series--Memphis is the only team I can think of that has enough quality swing players to match up with the Suns. The Grizzlies will probably wind up with the fifth or sixth seed, though.

I don't even think the Suns played that bad (besides Nash)--they definitely competed on the boards, which is their usual Achilles' Heel. I'd like to see them defend the sideline 3-pointer better, I guess. I'll just give props to Burks and Dahntay Jones and move on to the next game...

on the very next play down amare got called for a offensive foul (yea it was really offensive watching them get dream call after dream call).

the game started with the suns pulling to a nice lead, then the griz started playing hack-a-sun and not getting called for anything. and back came the griz. the suns got all kinds of calls against them and the griz could do whatever they wanted and got very few calls. amare got pushed from behind while going for a rebound and ended up on the ground with it and brian card diving on top of his head to get at the ball. no foul called even through brian is laying on his head. of course amare gets up being upset. let me say this what this team needs is one player that will go out and beat the crap out of anyone on the other team that thinks they can beat the team around. heck i know that jihdi white or vroman would have fit that roll if we had kept them.

The refs  maybe they have something against the Suns?

I was just watching game and stopped with the cheapshot by Cardinal, without a call I believe - just wanted to make sure, I wasn't the one felt that way about officials... again :(

The Suns need to play tough defense so that they have a chance when the refs decide to swallow thie whistles. I didn't see the game in Minnesota, but they were roported to have played a lot better on defense.

In any case, it seems the Suns players seem to lose their composre when the refs let the games get out of hand. I have no clue why they can't hit open jump shots when the other team is hacking them to death inside. Even my mother got to asking "why isn't that a foul?", but they did miss a lot of shots they usually hit.
