Darn this work schedule! I go from 9:30 this morning to about 11:00 tonight, with only a couple of short breaks. By the time I get home, I'll be too tired to watch the game even if I TiVo it, and by tomorrow it will be old news.

Heh, remember when Brian Grant torched the Suns in the preseason? Let's hope that doesn't happen again.

It's odd not thinking of the Lakers as this big "must win" game...a "statement" game.

I don't think beating them is significantly different than beating Cleveland right now...

Though I will admit that even if they hadn't won a game all season, it would still be fun to pile on another loss. Maybe in a few years the Lakers will feel that way about us.

Oh please beat the Lakers tonight.

I went to a Lakers forum and many Lakers fans want a revenge. They thought they had the first game and we are overrated...

I want to POKE their DREAM BUBBLE.

If for no other reason than they are division opponents, it is important to beat the Lakers.

I like this matchup, it should provide some exciting basketball.

GO SUNS!

This is a big game for the Suns. The Lakers have played them well, and the Suns need all the wins they can get if they want to compete for the division championship and/or a decent seed in the playoffs.

Fortunately, the Suns have played well on the road, and I think they'll show a lot more intensity tonight. This game should come right down to the wire.

Too bad you guys will be crying tonight. Mihm took his Pepto for this game, so you'll have to work a little harder to eek one out this time like you did at home.

I think this game is more important for the Lakers than for the Suns. The Suns are coming off a hard fought game last night and playing a playoff team on the road is always difficult. We'd be dissappointed if the Suns lost, but unless they play badly, not terribly upset.

For the Lakers this is a huge game. They are currently ranked fourth in the Pacific and risk losing what little is left of the Laker mystique. They let the game get away from them in Phoenix, but losing two in a row to team they used to dominate would hurt. Losing to a team playing on the road caming off a game the night before would be even more humiliating.

I think the Suns realize how important this game is. They may be tired, but I think they will be focused.

i think at least a half-dozen opposing coaches have uttered the following words after games against the suns this year:

'we were with them for 3 quarters, we just ran out of gas in the 4th'

tonight, maybe it'll be us who'll run out of gas in the fourth...

It sounds like we're already making excuses, so let me add another one. I'm afraid that the team is going to be intimidated by the arena atmosphere and the lack of success at at Staples. The current line is Suns by 3 and total points of 209

Not to mention Suns is currently better on the road because they play TO WIN rather than playing TO NOT LOSE. There's a huge difference. Suns is a wild team and when they are LET GO (like birds), they will roar into the sky. Some say Suns has no set plays and strategies. Well, to some degree, that's a good thing because we don't want other teams to figure out what we want to do. Surprise is always a good thing.

You summerized it really well. This game is more important to Lakers than to Suns, although if we lose this one, all those Fakers will start trashing Suns saying how overrated we are. It's only natural....

Ouchie and I just scored free 11th row tickets to the game! Maybe I'll get really drunk and get Kobe to pummel me - it would be well worth the price of getting beaten up to get my Channukah present(i.e. large settlement - Kobe suspended for the year!) Wish me luck!

I can't wait for the game tonight. I think hat Phoenix has more firepower than LA, and they are flat out a better ball club right now.

I am a little concerned about our stars being tired from last night's game.

I just hope that whoever Kobe is guarding really goes after him- be it JJ, Shawn, or Q.

My guess is they will start with JJ and end with Shawn. Rotating on him seems to be the best way to keep them from spending all their energy on defense.

I agree, but what I want to see is which one of them Kobe is going to guard. Whoever it is, I want to see them attack Kobe like they've never attacked anybody. Make him spend his energy on defense.

that's been a problem in the past, our guys defending kobe tend not to make him work at the defensive end. i'd love to see that happen. have jj post him up. make him really work physically.

regardless, cheese and i will give kobe a good working over! pistons fans don't got nothing on us!
