I know I don't post a lot, but I read most (if not all) posts.

I know cheesebeef went to the game, and that he's always criticizing Marion's clutch play. I don't disagree with him. I just want him to remember this game (I'm sure he will), and this is the reason: when the Suns were down by 13, who was the guy making back-to-back three-pointers and putting the Suns back in the game?

trust me, cheese acknowledged it. when he hit the second he turned to me and said, "marion's shots were just huge" - all this while he didn't think we had enough juice. right before our run i turned to him and said, "we're gonna win this game." it was glorious.

unbelievably enough - he did say "we're gonna win this game." I told him he was insane. What was most impressive to me was watching during the breaks and everyone - and I mean EVERYONE was standing hands on hips or hugging their shorts. I simply didn't think they had enough gas in the tank becausxe of playing heavy minutes last night, but as 3s starting falling, you could totally SEE their energy immediately get picked up FIVE notches, scrapping on D - getting that key board and Staples definitely knew they were in for it - it was like that feeling of dread most Phoenix sports fans have when we can feel our team blowing something(all too often) and for once - FOR ONCE - AND PROBABLY FROM NOW ON - WE WERE ON THE OTHER END OF IT!

Awesome game. I don't think I said it all night - thanks for the ticket Ouchie - that was awesome.

oh, and for the record, y'all know i'm not the most optimistic of fans. i don't make these statements often. i'm too realistic for that to be the case. i've only made that statement, "we;re gonna win this game," twice in my life. tonight and just before the bottom half of the ninth inning in game seven of the dbacks' world series. sometimes you just know.

unbelievably enough - I can corroborate sitting in the upper deck at ther BOB in the 9th inning of game 7 also. That was much more serious and I never seen the scary determination in Ouchie's eyes(as if he was somehow going to figure out a way to actually win the World Series himself) as I did when the 9th inning began. I turned to him and just said one, two, three... done and he grabbed me by the shoulders and said with the most serious tone I've ever heard from this jackass of all jackasses of older brothers: "No! We are going to witness something historic! You gotta believe!" For some reason - that was enough to turn my negativity and I nodded my head saying back "You gotta believe" and then turned to my other brother who just parroted it also and the rest as they say is - history!

I love sports.

Ouchie - we've been to the sickest Arizona sporting events - you realize that don't you? Cards game against the Niners back in '88, Cards game against San Diego, ASU Rose Bowl 1997 (heartbreaker), Suns game tonight and for you two games of the World Series and for me all four home games of the Series - that's just ridiculous - we are lucky sons of *******!

Hehe. During that series, I would try to tip the players of the pitch coming and which side the catcher was set-up (maybe it helped ;) ) while watching Tv. :D

My mom probably thought I was weird, she was at my place game 7.

What a great game!!!! Great performances by both temas and a lot of individual players.

When LA was ahead by 11 and 13, I honestly thought it was over, and then Marion hits two three pointers, they stop LA a couple of times, Nash ties it, and Q hits the winning shot.

WOW WOW WOW!!!!!!!

LOL - I thought about Game 7/2001WS also last night - though the power in BOB that night was unlike anything I've ever experienced, or ever will again. But last night, as then, I was jumping up and down yelling, wondering, "This one is ours - Do they know they can win? Do they KNOW they can win?"

I agree it felt like a corner was turned too - and maybe had to come vs. hated LA - but clearly, absolutely, this is NOT the Suns of old; these guys are starting to understand and trust one another to do what it takes. (I thought Amare was going to blow a gasket when he had to watch after fouling out. Maybe he could pull a Bobby Valentine or something if it happens again.)

Late 3rd quarter i had my glasses off - doing a form of exercise w/ my girl - i HEARD the game, but didn't see it from that point onwards.
Middle of the 4th, i put my glasses back on, saw the Suns down, realized i was REAL tired, went to bed thinking "oh well..."
Pleasant surprise to find out about the comeback win - on the road, 2nd of back to back games.

I keep thinking about the phrase "find a way to win".

The difference between the top teams and the middle pack teams is very small. The difference is generally that the top teams get the job done at the end of the game and mid level teams don't on a consistent basis. How many times did we say last year, "the Suns could have won that game"? Now it is the Laker's fans saying that.

Incredible.

It's going to suck being a Lakers' fan for the next 7 years, for me at least. I wish we still had Shaq and the adulterous piece of crap wearing #8 had been sent packing. :bang:

Sucks when you can't even cheer for your team's best player. :(

I'm awaiting Divac's return. It's been awhile since he was out there for a Lakers' team, gonna be cool to see that again.

Sorry BIM, I'm the total opposite. Shaq had worn out his welcome in my eyes long before demanding even MORE money, being out of shape and tossing M-Effers at Jerry Buss saying "pay me."

Although, I too can't wait until Vlad is healthy...Rudy rolled him out there a few times, but boy does Vlade look rusty. Vlade on the court brings back some good, and a lot of BAD memories. But Laker memories, all the same.

Yeah, you nailed it. I also loved Magic and Worthy (my 1 and 2 faves of all time). Here's the D-Dogg rule: If I am a big fan of any Laker, said Laker will be involved in some sort of sexual controversy. Mark it down, and watch your back Luke & Caron....

EXACTLY! Great teams win in the 4th quarter and Suns has been doing it very well. Great teams win road games and Suns has been AWESOME. So is Suns a GREAT team?

Not quite. Great teams don't give up a lot of second chance points. :(

I don't mean to take anything away from the victory, because it was a great comeback. But Bryant's inability to hit a shot down the stretch was just bizarre. I'm not talking about the last possession, where his options were too limited. Just in general, once the Suns started their comeback, he missed a lot of shots.

Some of it was better defense. But some of it wasn't. These were good open looks that a player of Bryant's caliber just doesn't miss very often. Heck, he even missed a free throw with the game on the line -- how often does that happen?

I'm not saying Bryant threw the game, but there was something very strange with his attitude. In the first quarter, he basically refused to shoot (a stunt we've seen before), passing up wide open shots or even kicking the ball back out once getting to the rim. If I remember correctly, he had only two field goal attempts in the first half, and it's not like the Suns defense was suffocating.

Great game, but at least six players on the floor at the end weren't focused on a Laker victory.

I was wondering if maybe the torrid pace of the game got to the Lakers. In theory they should have been much better prepared to deal with it, since the Suns had played a lot the previous evening. Still, the Suns are used to running the court for 48 minutes and very few other teams are.

I'm sure this is what happened with the Warriors. Maybe the Lakers aren't really prepared for a complete track meet.

1. It's not a stunt for him not shooting. It's a misconception that he shoots all the time. He has always led the team in assists, and now he's looking to pass first, shoot second. I watch this team every game on League Pass, and Kobe is trying to get this team to gel. The problem is, the team is playing well around him but he can't reinsert himself in the offense when everyone is clicking. It's very awkward. Countless times they get a double digit lead, then lose it and the game. It's happened in every loss they've had except to the Spurs, and in most of their wins. They had a 30 point lead in two games, and lost those leads each time...insane. It's a team learning to gel.

2. Rudy T doesn't know how to sub for this team. Kobe is playing far too many minutes, and Kobe is running the PG role as the team hasn't got a real PG. This combines to make Kobe tired at the end of games, and he couldn't launch a clutch shot with a tennis ball, much less a basketball.

3. Kobe settled for weak jumpers, missed his last 5, and didn't drive. He was tired. He also should have given it up. From my point of view, all the Lakers needed to do was score on two possessions. Kobe is clutch, but Rudy and his rotations are ruining him. WHEN the Lakers make the playoffs, Kobe might be dead due to these horrible non-breaks for Kobe.

4. Lakers win that game last night if Rudy had sat for 2 1/2 at the end of the 3rd, and the first 2 1/2 of the fourth. Kobe would have regained energy, and the other Lakers could have done just fine. I think Rudy relies on Kobe too much, to the detriment of the team.

5. Good win by the Suns...we match up very well and I think we'll have two more barnburners this year. 2 games and an 8 point seperation overall. Exciting.

Nah, the Lakers just can't hold a lead. They've been losing double digit leads all season thus far. In practically every game they've had a double digit lead, that gets squandered. They have no poise yet. I hope it comes...

Oh well, didn't watch the game but the box score shows that they got out-rebounded pretty bad. :(

I agree that Suns has to protect their board better or else when their 3pts don't go in, they will be in big trouble.

By the way, how come Amare only took 10 shots? He got into foul trouble?

I never said that he shoots all the time. Any team's best player should take more than two shots in a half. I doubt he has had such a low number of shots in any half of any game this season. Also, he is smart enough to know that passing up an open layup in order to kick the ball back out can't possibly help his team in any conceivable way.

I don't watch every Lakers game, but I stand by my assessment that Bryant's behavior was extremely abnormal.
