Marion

Shawn Marion is so afraid of contact it is sad. I don't understand it.

Joe Johnson is in the game to defend Kobe Bryant. Amare Stoudemire is not in the game because his defense and defensive rebounding were terrible in the third quarter. He was totally lost. Still, it's obvious they need to get him back into the game.

And there he is.

Touch foul.

Thats nice.

God, it must be hard for Amare, who is a rookie straight from high school, to sit pretty much the tnire 2nd half, and then come in in Overtime and have to battle with Shaquille O'neal and the World Champion LA Lakers.

Thank you Frank Johnson, for taking a timeout with a 5 point lead in regulation.

Sooo close

Frank needs to learn that a center and a power forward can play together.

No, I think it was a good no-call. It was just Samake Walker saying, "OK, let's see, Amare's gonna go right, alright, I cut him off, now he'll do the usual spin, I'll step over to my right (his left of course), and then he'll go up with the shot, I might as well block him..."

When you do the same move everytime, it's not tough to stop it.

Of course, it's not Amare's fault. Joe Johnson was in there running wind-sprints and close to airballing jumpers for a half of basketball before his father Frank got him out.

That's real, real, real tough to take.

Penny lost the game

2 misses in regulation with under a minute left, a missed layup in OT than loses the ball out of bounds in the OT...

And they couldn't get any fouls on Shaq although he had 4 early in the third.

Seattle beat Utah. They are just 2 game behind and holds tie breaker over I believe both Houston and us.

I honestly dont think I have ever been so pissed after a game. The Suns had this one. Thanks frank for calling a timeout when you're up by 5 with a few minutes left. Thanks for taking out your hottest player for the entire second half. Thanks for having a lineup of Marbury, Johnson, Hardaway, Outlaw, Voskuhl for 6 minutes when the Suns could have dominated a weak Lakers lineup.

Fire Frank. Say it with me folks.

FIRE
FRANK
JOHNSON

Please.

And I dont agree with the no-call. Thats total BS. Any other time during the game that is an automatic foul. But la de da da the officials hate ending the game with a call.

Yes, he shouldn't have done those boneheaded plays, but to say "Penny lost the game" is overly simplistic.

1) Frank Johnson called a time out with a 5 point lead. To me, THIS is what lost us the game.

2) Penny and his screw-ups

3) JJ missing the last shot

4) Shawn missing the last shot of overtime

5) Amare not getting the call

You can go on and on with the reasons--but is it worth going on and on about? No.

Al & EJ say it was a little too much Kobe Bryant - I say it was a little too much FJ.
Ruined a pretty good day and I'll probably be in a bad mood tomorrow.

Joe Johnson defended Kobe Bryant better than anyone else. That's why he was in the game. My problem with Joe Johnson is that he needs to call a to the basket. A game or two ago he was doing that and scoring at will.

Amare Stoudemire played pretty well tonight... on one end of the floor. His defense was absolutely terrible. He left Walker wide-open five straight times down the court. The coaching staff desperately needs to teach him that defensive rebounding positions starts before the ball is shot.

Penny Hardaway has to commit at least 2 stupid turnovers per game. I think it's in his contract. Hardaway had a nice night tonight, but down the stretch he disappeared.

That timeout was a bad one.

I'm left a training about this Phoenix Suns team with Kobe Bryant at shooting guard. He had a lot of turnovers tonight, but his big shots at the end of regulation and overtime were made with a hand right in his face.

I was yelling at the referees most of the game, but honestly they weren't nearly as bad as they usually are in a game against the Lakers.

Good game. I only wish they could have pulled it out.

Jake Tsakalidis did a very, very good job tonight against Shaquille O'Neal given the nonexistent playing time he's seen lately. I actually thought I saw three inches of air between his feet and the floor at one point. :)

It's going to be tough to keep the eighth playoff spot. It would sure be nice if Houston could help us by losing a few more.

ALright, I have probably been the most consistant person on this board saying give FJ a chance....but you know what?? F*ck Frank Johnson

I just cannot understand how he could leave Amare out for so long. He was simply unguardable in the first half. No one on the lakers can guard him besides Shaq. Not even close. The only way you will win against the Lakers is attacking their role players, and the 4 spot is the weakest of the group. I mean Amare had like 15 and 6 in maybe 28 minutes (this is without lookin at the boxscore, may be wrong).....he was capable of dominating this game tonight.

Not to mention, why was JJ out there at crunch time? I understand you put your shooters out in the remaining seconds, but why put a shooter who is like 1-8 out in the end? You think he will magically change his ways?? Especially if he is not named Steph or Penny, there is almost no chance he will step up.

On the no call at the end of regulation. Here is my 2 cents on it. Normally I would agree with the no call, I am very against letting officials decide the game. HOWEVER, in this case I felt it needed to be called just to stay consistant. Kobe forced TWO calls at the end of quarters and got both of them. Both were from contact, not being hit on the arm. The same philosphy should have been used at the end of OT.

Here is my arguement for this one (although it is a good point).....Yes he was leaving walker open, but he was doing it to double shaq. Without doubling shaq, he most likely would have scored and possibly gotton the foul. Even with that though, why didnt the coaches do the same thing to Steph, Penny, JJ when they were leaving Derek Fisher wide open to double Kobe?? Personally, if you are going to penalize one player, I think it should be the perimeter guys because

A) Fisher can become much more deadly than walker
B) I would rather double shaq down low than kobe 18 feet away
C) we have a lot of perimeter players, but only 1 power forward
D) Amare was to hot offensivly, was a big reason for our rebounding advantage, and was a huge mismatch

Don't get me wrong. I think it was stupid to bench Amare Stoudemire for that long. Are a Shaquille O'Neal had 4 fouls halfway through the third quarter. A decent coach would have told Amare to go strong to the basket to get Shaq fouled out. He also would have told him to pay attention on defense.

During that stretch when Walker went wild a couple times it was because Amare Stoudemire was trying to help on Shaquille O'Neal. The other times Amare was just lost.

BTW I know many of you probably remember the way Michael Jordan used to use his off arm to push away defenders he was posting up. But what the hell where the referees thinking tonight allowing Shaquille O'Neal to stiff arm the double team with his off arm. I was going nuts yelling at the TV. It happened at least 3 times tonight. It happened more than once to Amare Stoudemire, and I think the other time it was Joe Johnson or Shawn Marion. Please tell me someone else saw that? He would have the ball in one hand looking for a place to pass while his other arm was straight out holding off the double team.

I was a tough no call at the end, but we've seen it before. I this Amare Stoudemire tried to do a little too much on the last few possessions, but you've got to like the aggressiveness.

Tough game. I'm just glad they didn't get blown out.
