Today's Game

Friday, 5:00pmat PacersTV: NBALP, UPN 45 Preview

Sorry about the late post. This should be a good game for the Suns to get back on track. I am a little worried about this game just from the revenge side of the Pacers. I hope the we come out with energy and whip the floor with them again.

We look sluggish. None of our shots are falling, and we aren't playing defense. You know you're in trouble when Amare is missing dunks. :(

This trip is turning into a real test of the Suns, as I think we all expected before the big home victories.

The Suns need to come out and execute in the 3rd. They don't trail by much now. They have been missing shots and they seem to be standing around on offense.

It has to start on defense for the Suns. It gets them running which tires the opponents defense.

Tell you what. Suns may lose this game. But, not if Amare has anything to do with it. You can just see the fire burn in him to want to win. I love that.

Barbosa has regressed. PHX needs to bring in another experienced PG to spell Nash. JJ may be able to handle the ball "ok" and initiate the O, but that's it.

Nash is hurting. Man, he was taking a beating. Figures a walking foul named Jeff Foster was responsible for his leg injury.

Q is in a funk of Clipper proportions. Why in the hell does he keep trying to do his best Kevin McHale impersonation? Get the hell out of the lane.

Marion doesn't even look like he wants to be out there.

JJ has done nothing.

CJ is active, but still erratic.

Barbosa looks overmatched. I really thought he would be an up and comer in this league.

Hunter looks unmotivated.

What a crappy game.

I'll be impressed if they come out of Washington with a W. But, I don't know how they just turn it on after a performance like this.

They just beat this team by 85 last week.

amare missed a dunk? or more????

q is doing nothing.

That pretty much described this game. The suns couldn't get out of their own damn way and gave up way too easily. No hustle on rebounds, gave up too many easy buckets, no execution at all on the offensive end.

Unfortunately when Nash came out (after once again the refs let the opposing team beat the hell out of him), this team looked unmotivated.

I hope the league tries to get a grip on this god awful officiating because it is making NBA basketball unwatchable. They aren't to blame for the loss but this is getting ugly in a hurry.

Marion had only 3 boards, no offensive boards, in 40 minutes... also no blocks, no free throw attempts, and 12 pts... bad night.

Then there is Q Rich's 0-11... I really do not care for this guy, why did we pay him out the nose? As I stated in the Bulls thread, I really wish we had drafted Iguodala or Deng, then we could have kept Zarko and stil had a mid level exception. I know the guy has talents but there are too many games like this for him where he just jacks em up hoping hes having a hot night.

Overall a very poor performance with Nash or without... Amare played well but that's about it. Next is the Wiz who are playing very well right now and don't mind running.

I think all of that damn attention from ESPN.com was nothing but a curse. :)

That was just an ugly game for a Phoenix Suns fan.

Right now, we are not doing very well with the 3 point shots and the past two games we've been physically beat up pretty much. Not sure if I can find a bright spot for the past two games. Rebounds have really sucked wind.

It's time for the guys to shake it off & move on. If the 3's are not falling -take it to the rim. MOVE without the ball. Act like the rebound IS important.

I've heard our announcers say It's time to forget & move on - I say remember these two games & move on.

Trust me, it was uglier in person!! My one chance a year I get to see the Suns, and we make two stiffs named Foster & Pollard look good!! On the plus side, Nash might have locked up league MVP honors tonight, because the Suns looked like the Hornets without him!!

I said the same thing on the ESPN boards. All that title contender talk and 70 wins thing killed us. :)

I guess sometimes it's just better to be an underdog.

The underdog energy is way better than sitting at #1 on ESPN. Damn..that ESPN ranking is so cursed. Every time a team gets there, it gets bounced back.

Well, I guess most things I want to say are already been covered.

If this team wants to compete for the championship, they need to rely on the whole team and not just Nash. As good as Nash is, there is no guarantee that he won't get injured in the palyoffs. Suns without Nash is really crappy.

And did Q even make one field goal tonight? 0 out of 11? Hello??? If Nash is out, this is the moment JJ and Q need to step up to help the team!!

Not very happy tonight... Suns lost and Mavs lost..sigh.

If the 3's are not falling -take it to the rim.

Actually, the Suns were trying to work the ball inside. They took fewer three-pointers than usual, especially in the second half. The officials were allowing a lot of contact, and the Suns committed a lot of turnovers trying to create inside opportunities that weren't there.

It's great to have Nash as a "coach on the floor," but now the Suns need a coach on the bench. They scored only 35 points in the second half. On a team with this much offensive talent, that is completely unacceptable. D'Antoni needs to find a way to get some points on the board even when Nash is hurt.

I started out listening on radio while I walked the dogs, and very early on, it struck me that the game sounded really slow compared to usual - no warp speed, much more 'normal NBA tempo' - and just from that impression suspected that we were going to be in big trouble.

Must be those damn ugly orange jerseys.

I don't think I want to watch the Detroit game that's coming up. If the league is going to let Utah & Indiana beat us up then Detroit is going to kill us. Hopefully no one gets injured.

For those that didn't see the game, Nash was headbutted by Jamal Tinsley. Tinsley had the ball with his back to Nash and he threw his head backwards into Nash's nose and then drove past the stunned Nash for a layup. His nose had a cut going across it and blood running down it. Then Foster sets a moving screen and because Nash went around it, Foster kneed him in the theigh to slow him down. Nash hit the floor and got up limping and had to leave the game. Of course no fouls were called on either play. Also Foster tried to pull a Danny Fortson on Amare as Amare went up for an alley-oop dunk (Luckily Amare landed on his feet). That's two games in a row that defenders have put two hands into a Suns player when their in mid-air and shoved them out of bounds (Harpring did it to Marion in Utah) and neither time was it called a flagrant foul.

Jamison, Arenas, and Hughes all logged over 40 minutes tonight against the Bucks.

I think Amare is going to absolutely terrorize the "Bullets" tomorrow night.

I hate that Orange shirt!!

Aren't they like losing 3 games wearing that shirt? lol

Just kidding. There are many places that we still need to improve on. A team needs to learn how to survive without its all-star and we need to learn how to play half-court game if other teams choose to be very physical to us.

I hate half-court games but that's just the way it is. Amare needs to step up big time in half court games and the team needs to "move without the ball" more.

Q had a very cold night... and defensively, Marion's numbers don't look good.
