I don't think they will. Brooks is not the player he will be, once his ankle finally heals. It won't heal until he stays off it for some time. I can't believe people are judging him (and that trade) when the guy is playing without his single greatest asset - his speed. That second unit needs an effective playmaker and Brooks isn't there yet, at least not consistently.

I would expect more production from Brooks even if his ankle is not fully healed. Perhaps he is not at full speed but his shot is not there either. It bothered me when he threw the ball at the referee even though he appeared angry at himself. I guess the jury will remain out on Brooks until he is fully healed. I do worry that the Suns might become frustrated with him and he will be a RFA. It could be the Suns traded Dragic and a #1 for a player that might not be in a Suns uniform next season. IMO, Dowdell is the Suns best backup PG when he plays under control because he brings good defense. The Suns might have been better off just not doing the trade and starting Dowdell in front of Dragic. Certainly Brooks looks like a gamble at this time. IMO, he will not be happy backing up Nash (if he is not traded) next season.
