PHOENIX - Shawn Marion and Steve Nash had double-doubles, helping the Phoenix Suns win their season-high sixth straight game with a 111-104 victory over the Milwaukee Bucks on Wednesday night.
Marion had 23 points and 12 rebounds and Nash had 22 points and 12 assists.
Quentin Richardson added 20 points, Amare Stoudemire 16, Joe Johnson 13 and Leandro Barbosa, Nash's backup, had a season-high 12. The Suns have defeated Milwaukee 17 consecutive times in Phoenix.
The Suns (10-2) are off to the second-best start in franchise history, behind the 14-2 start in 1980-81.
Michael Redd had 22 points and 10 rebounds for the Bucks, who dropped their sixth in a row and fell to 0-6 on the road, and Desmond Mason had 20 points and 10 rebounds.
Joe Smith had nine of his 18 points off the bench in the fourth quarter, and Erick Strickland scored 14 for Milwaukee, which led only once in the game but got within three points with 6:47 left before the Suns pulled away.
The Bucks began a 15-3 run late in the third quarter and pulled to 91-88 in the fourth after a three-point play by Redd, a 3-pointer by Mike James and layups by Mason and Smith in quick succession.
Nash gave the Suns breathing room when he anticipated James' behind-the-back, crosscourt pass, knifed through for a steal and made a layup at the other end for a 93-88 lead.
The point guard also figured in a clutch play with a half-court, alley-oop pass to Marion for a layup with 3:35. That sent Phoenix ahead, 101-92, and Nash made it 103-92 with a fast-break layup 43 seconds later.
Phoenix had double-digit leads in each of the first two quarters, but let the Bucks tighten the game each time.
In the third, the Suns pulled away from a 61-60 lead with 9:54 to play to go up 88-73 with 47 seconds left in the quarter on Johnson's 17-foot jumper.
Nash had six assists and eight points in the quarter
The Suns had a 13-point lead after a layup by Nash with 4:37 left in the first, but Milwaukee tied it at 30 with an 18-5 run capped by Strickland's jumper with 22 seconds left.
Then the Bucks, who shot 64 percent in the first quarter, missed nine of their first 10 shots in the second, and Barbosa had 11 points during a surge that carried Phoenix to a 49-34 lead with 6:47 remaining.
