If a Suns' fan posts that he or she wants the Suns to "rebuild", I don't think that necessarily means that fan is trolling. People might strongly disagree, but does that make it trolling?

I never said he was trolling. I said that if a Laker fan had said the same thing, then he'd be labeled a troll. Do you disagree?

Could you be any more misguided. I already said the chance of us winning is small and I'm not the one who made it personal. If he wants to compare what I said to what a Lakers troll would say, I dont see anything wrong with me comparing what he said to someone drinking kool-aid.

Probably not a good idea to proclaim you're not being personal by being personal.

Depends on how it is worded. Might not make Sunsfan happy, but I am not sure it is necessarily trolling.

Fair enough.

I'm just tired of the gang mentality that if someone says something remotely positive about the Suns, they are jumped on and in some instances insulted. Call me crazy, but I thought we were all fans of the same team.

How is it not personal?
So are we not allowed to tell someone they are wrong on this site? Is that not acceptable. Personal is comparing someone to a Lakers TROLL or telling you guys that you are acting like sensitive *******.

You need to calm down. It was a simple discussion. You disagree and hate us for having a positive outlook, fine. End of discussion.

The thing is that I didnt jump on him for saying something positive. I merely disagreed and then he compared me to a Lakers troll. Then I said he was drinking kool-aid.

What I'm tired of is the gang mentality that if someone says something remotely negative about the Suns, they are jumped on and in some instances insulted(Lakers troll). Call me crazy but I thought we were fans of the same team.

Yes, I hate you for being positive. Thats exactly what I said. Glad you can read even though it might be at a 5th graders level.

Saying someone is misguided is getting personal? :lmao:

In a way yes as it assumes you are the arbiter of all that is guided and misguided. You can say that someones comments seem misguided, that way you are not self annointing yourself as the arbiter of truth.

Sorry that some people here are realistic. A lot of stuff has to go in our favor for us to be in contention for a ring next year. While it COULD happen, its not probable.

Its also not probable that a #15 pick will help rebuild the suns to a team with a good shot at the championship in the near future. the suns traded away a number of #1 in the future whcih will limit a practical rebuilding in the next 4-5 years. I sympathise with your feelings of being ambushed by multiple individuals after posting a disagreement. Its happens here, especially if you don't watch how you disagree with others. there seems to be a fine line with disagreement and personal dissing here, moreso than in most internet sites. I guess it because there are alot of koolaid drinkng jr high people here.

What bothers me about this "conversation" is how hard it is to actually get at the root issues.

Person A says "the Suns have no chance, so they should take a flyer on a project who might someday be really good."

Person B says "yes they do have a chance and should get someone who could really help."

You would think that person A would respond with a comprehensive explanation of:

1. Why the Suns have no chance of winning this year (almost no chance is the same as "no chance" in this context.)

2 Why getting a guy who is projected to help sacrifices the future.

3. Why a high risk pick improves the team's chances of being successful five years ago compared with a solid immediate contributor.

Responding with sneers and complaints about being personally attacked doesn't actually address these issues. Nor does a resitation of all the Suns bad decisions over the years answer any of these questions.

IMHO, the anti-optomism position is contradictory. It says the Suns aren't good enough to win in the near future, but then push for moves that make it even harder to win now. When told that this is signal to dismantle the team, that underlying conclusion is resisted.

I have concluded that the anti-optimist position is a result of some simple but flawed assumptions:

1. The Suns need a quality young big
2 None of the bigs in this draft are going to be much help soon.
3. Getting a big will mean being willing to wait a long time.
4. The Suns do not have the luxury of taking a guy who can't play for a while if they hope to win now.
5. Therefore, to get a you big the Suns have to give up on winning now.
6. Since they will only give up on winning now if they have to be convinced that no chance of winning now.

So Irish, what player is not a project at #15 especially if Rush and Augustin are not there. Who would you pick... Robin Lopez? I don't want any projects here. :D

I've already said I would chose Koufos.
