Is the term "swarming defense" something that applies only to small ball teams like the Suns and Warriors? What is the term used for the type of defense that teams like the Mavericks and Spurs play?
Yet the Suns hold opponents to a average lower field goal % than the Warriors and have a better defensive efficiency score.Warriors play swarming/prison rules defense. The Suns play semi-permeable/no defense.

Wow, the "semi permeable/ no defense" works better in every measure. the suns are better defensively in FG% allowed(15th in nba) than the warriors(20th), better at 3pt defense, better at scoring defense. I guess crime(prison rules) doesnt pay. The suns FG% defense is actually better than the spurs. I guess the spurs play "popaflop" defense.
Since when did prison rules defense = good defense? The Suns and Warriors both play crappy defense, just in different ways. I don't understand how there could be a statistic saying that the Suns don't suck at defense. The only thing that proves to me is that is a misleading stat, because the Suns play terrible defense. This season they are worse than in previous years.
Popovich also said that the Suns rebounding is better this season than last which is pretty clearly a load of crap.Popovich says the opposite, that the suns are closing out shooters better than in the past. this year the suns %FG's abd % 3 pt defense is better than it has been in a while and both are better than the spurs.
