Gee, thanks, Sherlock. I meant how the numbering system worked. What does the 7&1/2 mean? Is that head diameter? What do the numbers represent? I'm not asking what it is a measure of. What is this, 1st grade? I really thought hat sizes represented the size of gloves you wear.....

In the infamous words of any teenage girl, "Well, DUUUUHH!"

:rolleyes:

Take a tape measure around your head just above the ears and that is your hat size.

Jughead? I guess I am a jughead since I wear a 7 7/8 hat. No wonder they had to special order a helmet for me in highschool. :(

That makes no sense. I'm sure the average head is around 20" in circumfrence. The sizing numbers don't make sense according to your interpretation....

Dude, I am a *******! I forgot to copy and paste the conversions!

Here is the way:

To find your cap size, wrap a tape measure around the circumference of your head, above your ears. Match the number of inches to the Cap Sizes.

Hat Size = Head Measurement

6 5/8 = 20 7/8

6 3/4 = 21 1/4

6 7/8 = 21 5/8

7 = 22

7 1/8 = 22 3/8

7 1/4 = 23 1/8

7 3/8 = 23 1/2

7 1/2 = 23 7/8

7 5/8 = 24

7 3/4 = 24 1/4

7 7/8 = 24 5/8

8 = 25
