Last Year when i did this i had moderate success (LeRon McCoy) so id see how well i could do this year. I think ill probably throw out some new names but IMO they would be the best value for the pick.

1st Round, Pick 10 - Vernon Davis TE Maryland, The guy is a beast and with sub 4.4 40 speed would open the middle. His blocking is underrated, he can move without the ball very well and is a playmaker.

2nd Round, Pick 41 - Max Jean-Giles OL Georgia, He is huge at 355 lbs. Excellent power. Moves well and can get into the secondary to block the LB's. Can be used anywhere but center on the line which is a plus. Would def. help the run game.

3rd Round, Pick 72 - Anthony Smith FS Syracuse, Physical player who is just ripped. Very smart on the field and is the type of guy first in last to leave. Can cover and play zones. Him and Adrian would create havoc. One of my favorite players in the draft.

4th Round, Pick 107 - Zach Streif OT Northwestern, The guy is 6'8" 330 and he can dominate DL. Has the mean streak that this team is missing on the line. Natural ability and picks up playbooks and assignments quickly. Im sure you guys remember the ASU game.

5th Round, Pick 142 - Marcus Maxey CB Miami, Excellent speed could catch up to any WR. Decent height for his position 6'2". Could Def. help in the ST dept. Very good in man coverage.

6th Round, Pick 177 - Tony McDaniel DT Tennessee, Very Strong and can get in the QB's face. Quick feet, can just simply over power OG and OT's. Would be a steal in the 6th work ethic issues will make him slip.

7th Round, Pick 218 - Marcus Vick QB Virgina Tech, Can make almost every throw smarter on the field than off, goes through his reads and can read defenses. What would it hurt to bring him in and if it dosent work then so be it but DG has been known to turn around problem childs, could see vick as his new Culepepper.

Alright guys let me know what you think im sure the Vick pick will get slammed but other than that i think its pretty solid.

I would do a backflip if we got Vick in the 5th, 6th, or 7th.

We NEED OL & DL

Everybody saw what happened with Clarette and thats why i think Vick will fall that far. No one wants to look the way the Broncos looked last year. Name another team that would take a risk with Vick. QB is a bigger risk to take on a player than RB. I just dont see anyone touching him until the 6th earliest.

Azcardsfan1616, I'd be happy with your draft, but I'd be happier with an OT in the 2nd round. Seems to me that we have a lot of guards but not too many OT's, and that is where we need help the most. I realize that Jean-Giles is highly rated but have only seen him projected as a Guard. Also, don't think Davis will be available at #10, but he might be, and that is why this year's Draft will be so interesting. I see the Cards' wish list at #10, to be Young, Huff, Davis and Justice in that order. Since the team only signed one FA OL they have to pick an OT early.

Jean-Giles can definately play OT he played left tackle for 13 games as a sophmore at Georgia. He has played on the left and right side as a T and G.

Jean-Giles also interests me. I just want the line upgraded more than adding just one player to last years group.

BIG, Jean-Giles, Wells, M.Brown, Justice. There lol...

I think Justice is too much of a reach. I have him going to Dallas at 18. But then again what do i know i have 9 CB going in the 1st round.

Justice was gunna go around 12-15 before his great proday. Now I think he can go anywhere from 8-12...

He won't be an NFL OT despte playing OT in college--the same with players like Deuce Lutui, he has weight control & conditioning problems and he's been labelled an underachiever--almost every scouting report I've read says those things, him being "huge" isn't always a plus when most of that is fat. We need an early OT more than we need an OG.

If he goes before 13 ill be shocked. If the Cards dont pick him lets look at the next teams.

Rams- Need C and G not a T
Browns- Top Need is a NT and one will be there at 12 either Ngata or Bunkley.
Balt.- I dont see them passing on Jimmy Williams at 13
Philly- The line is Solid they will take a LB or DL
Atlanta- They need D not O, look for them to take a CB
Miami- He could go here but they need secondary help badly
Minn.- They need too many players on D to justify an OL
Dallas- First team since 10 with a need for an OT He will go here IMO.

BTW Teams before AZ, Detroit and buffalo who both need D.

I think he can play T has all the ability. He needs a kick in the pants but once motivated he could start instantly.

You are alone in that thinking, not a single draft publication thinks he is capable of playing OT on a regular basis..not Scouts INC(ESPN), not PFW, not Kiper, not Street & Smiths and not Sporting News.

He's a run blocking OG with weight & motivation problems, he grades out about the same that Elton Brown did in last seasons draft. We need an OT way more than we need another OG.

Is that part in bold really true. From the 2 games I have seen and every single scouting report has that as a negative for him as he cant get to the second level all that well or pull. That was also a problem noted at the senior bowl. I still like the pick but him not being able to get to the second level in the pros is most certianly something he will need to work on.

I Like the first 6 picks. Strief doesnt get mentioned all that much but I think he is right up there with Whitworth or at the very least close to him. Good depth to play behind Ross and the more experiance he gets the more competition that Ross will feel the heat from. He wont blow you away with anything but he is one of those guys who just gets the job done and produces. Good for depth and the future.

As for Vick. It is really hard to pick on a 7th round selection in any draft so I usually dont. But Vick, ugh.

As per the instructions given in the title of this thread I took this mock draft to the bank.

The teller didn't seem overly impressed with it and asked me in a pinched voice, "what am I supposed to do with this?".

I admit at this point I faultered, assuming that AZcardfan1616 had already had some pre-standing arrangement with the bank. It became apparant that this was not the case.

In a flash of inspiration, I told the teller that the mock was the new form of currency from a mystical and forgotten land called Arizonaaaaa and that I'd like to exchange it for some humble american dollars.

Long story shortened, she called security (blazer wearing fools!) who called the police (cumbersome belt fools!) and I had to spend a night in "the drunk tank".

It's alright though, that's how I met Abraham Lincoln.

Abraham Lincoln.

there was a reason they moved him to Guard though. He became a good player the day he moved to guard, doesn't have the feet for tackle.

typically college OL's who are good go from guard to tackle as they become upperclassmen, not the other way around.

These are the interesting picks I see. I would like to get Gilles in the 2nd too.

Do you think Smith would be BPA in the 3rd?

Streif is an interesting pick there in the 4th. He could be decent. How do Whitworth and Trueblood compare with him?

Maxey - could he be avail. that late?

Smith IMO is one of the best DB in the draft period. He is probably the hardest working DB.

Whitworth wont be there in the fourth and i was debating between trueblood and Strief but zach is so much more physicaly gifted and dominant. Streif has the ability to control anyone while trueblood really didnt show anything against tough opponents.

Maxey might be there because of his work ethic. Can be brilliant one day and then get beat by some 4th wide the next. Maxey has clear problems with adjusting and scouts probably see that. He will fall like brown, and blackstock did last year. Has excellent physical ability but the mind isnt nearly as good as the physical.
