AZCentral had an article that I found because it was linked on the NBA Summer League main page about how the Suns needs to help Jackson mature. It's an interesting piece but I think his "character issues" are inflated for the sake of the article. I'm not familiar with the writer, Greg Moore, but he tries inserting himself into it a bit because he claims him and Jackson are similar because they both work in Phoenix and they're both from Detroit. He's trying to relate to Jackson but it comes across as corny.

So I am a huge Jackson fan- probably would have picked him if I had the first pick in the draft.
That said, I think we are exaggerating Jackson's defensive ability and/or setting the expectations too high. Jackson spent more time defending 4s than 3s in college. NBA is a whole new game. Mark my words- Jackson will NOT be a lock-down defender... at least initially. Don't get me wrong, compared to Booker, he is DPOY, but I'd be cautious with setting high expectations and proclaiming him a lockdown defender on all positions.

Let him try though!

I still can't believe we got Jackson. He's going to be such a bad ass on this team. Jackson and Chriss will strike fear in this league with their athletism and nastiness!
