I'm not really one to have long winded posts. What else needs to be said?

Thoughts?

I was thinking by memory (which is suspect) that Peter ran something like a 4.7 forty , I recall that the time shocked most folks .

Not even kind of close. Austin is a burner. Warrick was slower than molasses in the winter.

Thought Warrick was much faster. Thanks for sharing.

Still don't want TA @ 7. I wouldn't feel as bad as I did when we drafted Floyd. Draft a stud anywhere on the o-line or either of the dominat DTs.

If we draft this guy in a draft rich with line talent I will go nuts. More nuts. Extra double nuts. He is a luxury that we are nowhere near being able to afford. We would be the guy driving the Fiero with a six month salary sound system if we draft Austin.

Yep , TA would be an exciting player to have , but only if we could shore up the O-line with a couple of quality players before the draft .

How about Hussein Bolt who ran a 9.58 hundred meters? He looks like a weight lifter and is no small man. If he could catch the ball he would be a lot of trouble for DBs. Mathmaticians estimate he should be able to run a 9.45 hundred meter. Of course he probably makes more money running and endorsements than he could ever make in football.

Ethan Siegel, a theoretical astrophysicist at Lewis & Clark College, recently charted a graph to demonstrate that, judging by the incremental progression of the 100-meter world record over the past hundred years, Bolt appears to be operating at a level approximately thirty years beyond that of the expected capabilities of modern man. Mathematically, Bolt belonged not in the 2008 Olympics but the 2040 Olympics. Michael Johnson, the hero of the 1996 Olympic summer games, has made the same point in a different way: A runner capable of beating Bolt, he says, "hasn't been born yet."

But even if he performs at his most optimal, most researchers believe that Bolts records will eventually be broken. It's only a matter of time. The theoretical speed limit of a human being, according to a 2010 study conducted at Southern Methodist University, may be up to 40 mph, based on what scientists think is the maximum amount of force a runner's legs can apply to the ground. Bolt currently averages 28 miles per hour.

Can you imagine a 40mph wideout? Based on this progression can you even fathom what a 2040 NFL team would look like physically? I recall the first 300 lb lineman in my lifetime.

Imagine the concussion danger then. Source?

Agreed.

The Cardinals didn't draft Warrick, and they are not going to draft Austin.
I'd be inclined to agree.

But that doesn't necessarily mean that BA won't add a waterbug type - if for no other reason than to fill the hole created by LSH's exit. (He did mention that we could use a burner, albeit at WR).

Cribbs remains an option if he clears his physical, and I still think Goodwin's a possibility if we can get him in the 4th or 5th round.

If we need some speed the Cardinals could take Josh Boyce in the later rounds, and it seems everyone forgets Josh Cribbs waiting on the sidelines right now.

But, with the 7th overall pick, with OBVIOUS, and GLARING needs on the offensive line ?

If they chose a WR, if would produce yet another knock in the "The Cardinals are the laughing stock of the NFL" belt.

Seriously, another WR ? Did Matt Millen buy a Steve Keim suit and is secretly running this team ?

I am trying to respect this opinion of why to pick the guy, but it is extremely hard to warrant it a serious thought.

Did I miss something? I don't recall hearing Steve saying anything about drafting Austin at #7. Even if he did, it would be 50-50 that it was to gin up trade talk.

But I believe mention of Austin is mainly media speculation, and it's a bit premature to compare Keim to Millen based on conjecture rather than fact.

Pure conjecture. Should have stated, so but thought it was obvious.

This. It cracks me up that there are people who still take Mitch's hyperbole as gospel lol

Mitch is pretty savvy. He'll post something twenty times in new threads, and that creates the impression that it's an idea that's gaining steam.

As for the OP, I realized this on another Austin thread, but the best comp is probably not Peter Warrick, but actually Ted Ginn, Jr.

Ginn's two inches taller but about the same weight.
