arians is old school coach
end around plays are not part of his playbook
even not using the tigh end much as receiver is questionable
gresham and momah could be used more as big targets

I totally agree on the TE thing, both guys can catch the ball and I feel they are under utilized in the offense.

jj nelson is very underrated
he is a faster and a healthy version of john brown
maybe not so sharp on his routes

I worry about his dependability with a larger role. He's gotta be the slimmest player in the league and can't seem to add any bulk at all. That said I've liked what we've seen so far.

Pretty much it Mitch, although you made me think why doesn't Arians use Nelson on some end around plays because he has speed and he has some elusiveness. Seems to me it would be worth looking at.

I think it is because, like when he returned kicks, when he gets tuned up he can't hold onto the ball.

... And an inch shorter and 20 pounds LIGHTER! Though Brown's the one who has had trouble staying on the field, at 160 pounds Nelson has got to be considered a serious risk to be injured, especially if over-used in the middle of the field and on running plays.

...dave

Edit: Oh yeah, what GatorAZ said! :)

JJ may not have the x factor gimmick play ability that Tavon has, but he is an exponentially better WR. JJ has the best hands on our team right now.

I also feel like he’s more fluid with the ball in his hands than John is, despite their 3-cone times sayin different.

Wasn't he the one that dropped the ball that was right in his hands week one? The one on the sideline where he was wide open?

Yeah but nelson even lighter looks more resilient
He is showing some blocking skills as well
Few example of undersize player
Chris Johnson at 199 has been a workhorse ball carrier for several years without missing a game
D.Jackson the wr is another example of undersize being able to stay on the field

Austin, solid 'X' factor player... and all hype past that evaluation, and not much better than a Ellington for what he offers but the Rams have to justify the guy because they drafted him

In a van...down by the river.
Fumblitis and can't run NFL(McVay's) routes.

Good person, hard worker, surprisingly good blocker. If he wasn't so expensive i'd use him in the running game as a change of pace back.

2015 showed what he can do. Rams need to move on from that contract.

Ja'Wuan James would interest me if the Dolphins would give him up for a late pick. He's on his 5th year option at $9M. He's been a solid RT since he entered the league.

James makes sense, but I would wait for him to be cut.
The Dolphin O line has sucked for years including last. He is part of that line. He seems to be continually injured and out of lineup. Played 8 games last year. 7 games in 2015.

Oh, I understand that he is average at best, I view him like Mike Remmers. If you can get him relatively cheap, he can fill a hole on your line for a short period of time. I agree with you that the injuries are the biggest reason for pause.
