More help with our comp pick(s) for 2017!!!!!

At now what is our situation ?
In branch
Mathis

Out Massie
Larsen
R.Johnson
Weatherspoon

Powers probably gone too

I think with Massie contract we will get an extra 5th round pick next year

Sowell to Seahawks as well, not sure what the criteria for "qualifying" is however.

Do u know the criteria

Is about contracts value and playing time? ?

Tackle Bradley Sowell has joined the Seattle Seahawks on a one-year contract worth $1.5 million, according to ESPN's Adam Caplan.

Not sure how the compensatory picks are worked but the bottom line is the Cards lost Sowell to free agency. That gives us 5 players lost while we only signed 2. Additionally as you mentioned we will most likely lose CB Powers.

Comp picks are based on contract and usage out vs the same criteria in. There are only so many comp picks awarded however, so this means it comes down to the top X number of players.

I don't have a problem with this. What it signals to me is, we are drafting a center.

Maybe a starter, maybe a backup. But to me it means we're drafting one, and likely still signing one after the draft. Maybe LS, maybe someone else.

I guess the only downside really is that we've telegraphed that we're going to draft one and hopefully no one jumps us to take one.

The Bears get a serviceable 6th-7th lineman who can spot start and has position versatility.

Over the Cap only had Sowell's contract at 1 Mil.

I think the NFL should end compensatory picks, especially the third rounders.

Boooooooo!!!

Just when we finally start to get comp picks you want to do away with them.

SK will have us drowning in them in the next couple of years.

I'm looking strong at the addition by subtraction formula here . I'm glad these guys got signed somewhere else , because if they are sitting out there in FA limbo like Sendlien was last season it is to easy for SK to just go with the known , instead of trying something else .I'm sure there are OLD guys like myself on this board that remember the old St. Louis days when our O-Line was this "LT -- Finney ------- LG -- Young ------- C -- Banks ------ RG -- Dobler -------- RT -- Dierdorf " . Let's look at Center --- Right Guard --- Right Tackle . Pull Banks and insert Sendlien THEN PUKE , Pull Dobler and insert Larson THEN PUKE again , Pull Dierdorf and insert Massie and DRY-HEAVE the rest of the day . We needed to do something different , and now we must , IMHO that is a good thing . It's like trying to sell a Lemon Automobile and finding a buyer .

I agree...letting a couple of those guys walk away takes the safety net away... bring in new guys, coach up the ones you have... but the fallback guys are gone. Get better.
