So apparently the words Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles doesn't mean the same thing to Michael Bay that is does to everyone else. He reads it as Teenage Alien Ninja Turtles.

I was extremely excited to hear they were making a new live action TMNT movie but this has put a huge damper on that. If they follow through with them being aliens instead of mutants then I will never see it. Simple as that.

That's awesome, and the absolute perfect reaction to news like this. I really wish my childhood entertainment interests could issue a restraining order on Michael Bay.

I never let things like this get to me anymore. I think I finally gave up on expecting sanity from Hollywood when they made Mr. Phelps the bad guy.

I'm not concerned about them being aliens. I am concerned the Michael Bay thinks a totally unnecessary (and not interesting) change to the storyline makes this movie more appealing to a modern audience. Did we really allow him to reproduce?

I wouldn't be against a TMNT remake because the first 3 were crappy, especially the 2nd and 3rd. However, I have no doubt that Michael Bay is the wrong man to do it.

Former "TMNT" voice actor Robbie Rist, meanwhile, went so far as to claim that Bay is "sodomizing" the franchise.

"You probably don't know me but I did some voice work on the first set of movies that you are starting to talk about sodomizing," Rist wrote in a message to Bay, according to TMZ. "I know believing in mutated talking turtles is kinda silly to begin with but am I supposed to be led to believe there are ninjas from another planet? The rape of our childhood memories continues. ..."
