Circumstances matter though.

Ertz was stuck behind a former pro bowl caliber player for a bit. Players do get better with more snaps.

Ojulari essentially missed all of the off-season.
Much harder to catch up during the year.

This draft class is looking better each week.
Very much agree on the last. I still don't like drafting players who can't participate high in the draft. I then feel they have to be absolute nailed-on studs to make up for that lost time. Draft a 5th rounder who is hurt and can't practice but has upside? Cool, good idea. 2nd rounder? Not so much.

He did look a lot better this week. Let's hope he builds on it.

Ojulari was a really good player at LSU, which is why he was given #18, which is now given to the best defender on the team.

I think it matters more for a losing team to draft a guy that doesn't have an impact, but I think Ojulari could be part of the solution long term.

Kyler's new McBride or die can get open fast - really helpful when the pocket collapses before ever forming - also has good hands and size - I just hope he's super durable because he's going to see more balls than the Kardashians
That's an exaggeration.... nobody will ever see more nfl balls than kim

If your a playoff team trying to get over the hump then I would agree you want your high draft picks to contribute or make an impact right away.

A team on the tank can afford to take a high floor type player who was injured late in the college season. We don't really need him this year but next year you would hope the pick is paying dividends.
