The 2025 NFL draft is officially less than a month away and the league is anxiously waiting for the Tennessee Titans to make a decision on what they're going to do with the top overall pick.
The Titans said early on that they were open to offers with the top pick, and now that the free agency onslaught is over, nothing has changed.
"I would say everything is still on the table," Titans general manager Mike Borgonzi said, via the team's official website. "From the beginning, I said I wanted to go through the whole process, and I felt like our priority was to build the offensive line first, and we added (tackle) Dan Moore and (guard) Kevin Zeitler.
"Now we're going through the process here with the college quarterbacks. But I'd say everything is still on the table right now."
They apparently haven't received any offers worth entertaining, at least in their opinion, but that doesn't mean there won't be calls as the draft inches closer.
The Titans hold all the cards right now, and they're not going to show their hand until they absolutely have to. They could still draft a player with the top pick, or they could trade back and add draft capital.
The problem for the Titans is deciding who they want to be their quarterback because that is what dictates their next move. If they want Cam Ward, they'll stay at No. 1 and draft him. If they want to wait and see what next year's quarterback class looks like, they could either trade down or they could select a different player at No. 1 altogether.
Despite all of the experts and analysts indicating that the Titans are more and more likely to keep the top pick and use it to draft Cam Ward, some fail to remember that they can keep that pick and draft someone entirely different. Should they? Will they? We may not find out what their plan is until we hear Roger Goodell say, "With the first pick in the 2025 NFL draft, the Tennessee Titans..."
We'll just have to wait and see.
