I read on http://hoopshype.com/rumors.htm that the Raptors are offering Shwn Marion $18-$21 million dollars over the next three years. Would the suns be able the offer marion a little less, with our MLE and do you think he will accept?

Just wondering, are the suns eligable to use the bi-annual exception this year for Marion?

Yes, theorically speaking, the Suns could use their bi-annual exception for Marion. But since it's worth less than 2M per year, why would Marion take it?

Hell no he won't! The Suns wanted to ship him off for years until they finally did. Why would he want to come back to that? It would be like one of my former employers, for whom I hated working, calling and asking me to come back but can only pay me 1/3 of my original salary.

I don't get this loyalty thing. First why would he have any? Second, why would we want Marion? He is not the same player he was a few years ago.

he wanted to leave because they were trying to trade him 10 million times. people on here say he didn't put up that great of numbers for the money he was making...but he put up some really good number for basically not having any plays drawn up for him.

What play would you draw up for him?

People need to get off the Marion thing.

Total system player who, when the athleticism starts to go, will watch his "skills" go with it.

He's also whiney.

Assuming Marion doesn't return to the Suns, do you think he has done enough to join the Suns Ring of Honor?

http://www.basketball-reference.com/teams/PHO/leaders_career.html

5th all time in games played as a Sun
2nd all time minutes played as a Sun
3rd in field goals and field goal attempted
4th in 3 Point Field Goals and 2nd in 3 point field goals attempted
2nd in offensive rebounds, 1st in defense rebounds, and 2nd overall
2nd in steals, 3rd in blocks, 4th in points

No doubt about it. He's better than Majerle.

Marion and Nash for sure. Stoudemire probably, but needs to be here for another few seasons to guarantee. Barbosa if he becomes a lifer or the Suns decide to start him regularly. Hill will not make it even if he comes back for one more year.

Marion and Nash are locks for the Suns Ring of Honor. Stat probably is if he sticks around for a few more years, if they trade him this season though he's probably at that Larry Nance level, left just outside the ring.

I can't see LB making it, theres no guys up there who are career 6th men. Like others have said, maybe if he's a Suns lifer, or if he becomes a solid starter.

On a sort of related note, now that JC is gone, I wonder how much we'll see of former Suns staying involved in the organization. JC was always great with rewarding the good, loyal players with positions in the organization, even if they were only ceremonial. I wouldn't be surprised if Sarver was too clueless to do the same.

Oh also, my money on the next person to go into the Ring is: Al McCoy.

I can't see Al going in very soon. If they didn't put JC up there until after he left the organization, I doubt they will induct McCoy until he retires, although they should.

Al is going to follow Chick Hearn's footsteps and do the Suns' games until he dies. Then he'll be up there immediately. JMO.

Im hoping they learn their lesson from Cotton dying before he got to see himself go up there and put Al in before its too late, he's getting up there in age

Sarver won't induct Al. Because Sarver is an evil turd.
