Texas A&M's 2026 recruiting class has already seen its share of ups and downs, starting with losing three commitments over the past two months. However, this is expected before the summer, when official visits begin to take shape and prospects start narrowing down their options.
So far, even after losing three commits, every one of the Aggies' eight commits is considered a blue-chip prospect, led by four-star wide receiver Aaron Gregory. Meanwhile, HC Mike Elko and his defensive coaching staff are building another impressive defensive line class, which already includes four-stars, Trashawn Ruffin and Jermaine Kinsler.
However, Elko isn't finished adding talent in the defensive trenches, as former LSU commit JaReylan McCoy has included Texas A&M in his top 5 program list, which still consists of the Tigers, while Florida, Auburn, and Ole Miss finish things out.
McCoy is set to take an official visit to College Station on June 13 after visiting Auburn, Ole Miss and Florda and will head back to Baton Rouge on June 21.
After recording 11 sacks and 23 tackles for loss during his 2023 sophomore season, McCoy finished with 7.5 tackles for loss and 1.5 sacks in 2024.
According to 247Sports Composite, JaReylan McCoy is currently positioned as the 119th-ranked prospect in the 2026 cycle, the 13th-ranked defensive lineman, and the 7th-ranked prospect in Mississippi.
