Exactly.

The way I hear it is that tier 1 is set with the 7-ish players.

The 2nd tier is not only quite big this year, but also strong at OL, Edge and DT - all positions of need.

It only makes sense to move up for a tier 1 player in that scenario
There is plenty of time. teams will get antsy on draft day and move up if they have to and get a QB...we see it almost every year..a couple of those "top 7" will be on the board at 10

and trading from 16 to 10 aint all that bad

#16 and #42 has a value of 1450. Pick 8 is valued at 1400. Not sure how that works in real life or the value of future picks.

The value chart is made up and means nothing but that hasn’t stopped me from looking at it every draft season as a guide. Speaking of meaning nothing this mock draft of players in our area makes me want to keep #47.

I would hope the Cardinals would sprint to the podium if Tet slides. I'd even consider trading up to get him, because then the Cardinals would have two jumbo receivers to pair with McBride.

Does nobody else have concerns about how many of his catches are contested? Such a high contested rate generally means you can't get open.

I don't think Monti goes WR in the 1st in back to back years.

I was / am a big T Mac fan

but I worry he may have the same issue as MHJ: long legged strider that may not create separation in /out of cuts

I don’t understand who we’d be trading up for. Graham, Carter and Hunter are top-7 picks. No way I’m giving up an our 2nd plus a future 1st for anyone else.
Graham and Campbell could slide. The Cards may really like Membou. Depending on who top teams are targeting the Cards could move as high as 8 by giving up their second rounder. Their third rounder could move them to 12. Of course they add their 2026 second tho this year’s second and go up to 4 or 5. They have options due to the depth Ossenfort has built. Highly placed teams are often desperate depth-wise and 2 second round picks could be 2 starters or at least rotation players. The 2026 draft will probably be deep at QB and on both lines. It’s generally thought to be deeper than 2025.

this is what im thinking - monti doesn't like to give up draft picks - if we do trade up it'll be due to a player he likes sliding and we won't trade up very far to get them - maybe 3 or 4 spots

Final verdict:

Will Johnson will be the pick. I’m like 80% sure after how Gannon/Rallis runs the defense.

I think Monti continues to build the trenches. I’m fine nickel & diming corners and guards in FA if we stack the DL with explosive dudes.

Imagine Nolen or Pearce at #16 and vice versa at #47. Ideally we wouldn’t have to worry about the DL for the foreseeable future and address the other spots next draft.

That said Will Johnson would hardly be a board meltdown pick but this draft is strong up front.

Tbh, I’m not that high on Pearce. I think he might fall anyway with all the off-field issues circulating.

I know you’re not high on him, but man I would foam at the mouth for a DT duo of Tomlinson & Kenneth Grant.

Both Grant and Green are preferred options for me at this point. I get Monti may have Green off his board. I also would be ok with Stewart.

Are his off-field issues like Jalen Carter or Mike Green? I thought you liked Pearce. Yeah just not a fan of Grant, maybe at 315. Don’t think he moves as well as some do. The Vita Vea’s are rare.

Fully ready for the board meltdown if we pick Stewart. I’m sure a team or two looks at the A&M edges underperforming and think it’s coaching.

Green sounds like a scumbag so you can put a blue star on his helmet right now.

That would be a great athlete pick. Those don’t have a history of consistent success.

I did initially, but then I started to back off a bit. He doesn’t look as athletic compared to his frame the more I watched him.

He moves better than Vea to me. If anything, I think he’s closer to Dexter Lawrence athletically than Vea.
