It appears the details of a PAC 16 with OK, OK State, Texas, and Tech are being ironed out with some sort of Longhorn Network compromise, and a four-team rotating pod system.

things seem to be calming down. hopefully the big 12 will stay in tact and they will just replace tex a/m with a better CFB/athletic program. In reality the big 12 can rival the pac 12, big 10, and yes the SEC, because the state of texas has the best high school football in the country. top notch prospects from texas go to the big 12 in huge numbers and there are 4-5 ranked teams in the conference every year.

people need to realize that a and m is just tired of living in texas' shadow. and even-though regionally it makes more sense, nebraska left for the same reason. nebraska and the aggies dominated the big 12 for years in the 90's and have struggled to handle all of the mediocraty with the rise of texas, OU, and the other big 12 schools leap frogging them as well over the last 10 years. for the programs that left the big 12...nothing is really going to change for them. they are like the bored wife/husband that leaves their spouse because they are tired and want something new, but then they regret it later when the flame dies on the next one because they walked away from tradition and memories. nebraska will never be bigger than michigan/OSU. texas a and m will be a bug on the windshield for most schools in the SEC(just like they have been in the big 12). at least in the big 12 the aggies had rivals and could compete in recruiting.

I bet the SEC goes after one more team, maybe Mizzou. Then the Big 12 takes on 4 newbies to replenish their ranks. Mountain West and WAC have to merge to survive and then everything stabilizes.

I have no idea who goes to the Big 12 though. I wish my native NM schools were good enough to get consideration, but they suck so hard, that will never happen.

Boise? Nevada? BYU? Who else might make sense in the new Big 12?

Big 12 has been talking with BYU, Air Force, and even some Big East schools like Louisville.

Louiville, BYU, air force, all make sense. tcu makes most sense. I wish they would go after arkansas because the old SWC rivalries, but don't know if that is possible.

boise state would be a good addition to the big 12 north. nevada and byu would be fine too. I don't know why mizzou would want to go to the SEC because they get a lot of their fine recruits from the state of texas. I guess it would work out for them eventually though.

New Mexico would be a great addition for basketball. Kansas and the rest of the Big12 lineup v New Mexico in the Pit? That would be awesome. Too bad they aren't competitive at all in Football. As for New Mexico State, are they competitive in any sport? Golf maybe?
