Byron Leftwich.

He's entering Day 14 of his holdout, and nothing is apparently progressing. The West Coast offense is one of the hardest to learn, and he's missing his time. It sure doesn't sound like there's a sense of urgency coming our of Jags camp on this.

It have been really embarassing if he were holding out of our camp. David Gerrard is going to be a better QB than him, anyway.

Have a nice career, Byron.

Regardless, his career is doomed. He's playing in an offense that doesn't suit him and was brought in to replace a player who is very popular with his teamates. The Jags have several glaring needs and Wayne Weaver drafted Leftwhich because he doesn't like Brunnell. With the way Gerrard has been progressing he's making Leftwhich look like a waste of a pick.

I still wopuld have loved to have drafted this kid. Just because he's not signing in Jax doesn't mean he wouldn't have been signed here.

I still wish we had drafted him. I was checking a Jags site the other day and most of the people thought the Jag's were lowballing him. His slotted bonus should be around 11 million and the Jag's are offering considerably lower than that.
I'd feel alot more comfortable with him waiting to take over for Blake in 3 yrs than McNown. It may not be an ideal situation for him there, but that doesn't mean he won't be a very good to great QB.

Drew Rosenhaus is McGahee's agent. No idea who Leftwich's is.

I don't think the Bills are in any hurry to sign McGahee considering that he won't play this year. His signing will take up a roster spot. Strange first round pick for them.

I was against drafting him, said he was overrated, more likely to bust than Suggs. But, come on. He hasn't stepped on the field yet.

McGahee might not sign at all so he can re-enter the draft next april.

Wow, are they already saying that? That card usually doesn't come out until at least September. He's not going back into the draft. No one turns down a check for $2 mil. when you made $0 the year before.

You're right. Every year someone plays that card but of course they end up signing for the check. What I've heard is that McGahee and his agent want to get a deal done but the Bills are dragging their feet.

I would turn it down if i knew next year i was top 5 and would be the starter. He has 2 people in front of hin on the depth chart in buffalo why not go somewhere where you can play.

But you won't. Someone always comes out to be the new "can't miss" prospect at every position, and without the baggage of not being willing to sign a contract. Do you think that if Joey Harrington or David Carr had gone back into the draft that they would have been chosen in the Top 5? Personally, I don't think they would have been drafted in the first round.

Frank Gore is supposed to be better than Willis McGahee. Teams are going to have fresh tapes on how he mauled defenses this season. Do you think that they'd rather take a risk on a player that couldn't be signed in the teens the season prior, or choose a player that they know is healthy, had a monster year most recently, and doesn't have any accompanying baggage.

He'll sign.

Was Harrington or carr hurt? If he goes back in he will be a top 10. If he goes back in are you telling me that he wont be a top 3 back in the draft. Next year RB will be a thin position in the draft why not take advantage.

McGahee went to Miami and scored an 8 on the Wonderlic, if I recall. This man is terminally stupid.

Because difficulty signing is probably right on par with "drug problem" for NFL GMs evaluating players. Look how far Randy Moss fell because of his attitude problems.

Regardless of injury (and another year won't change the fact that he's had like three serious knee injuries), the fact that he's been out of football a year and hasn't faced any competition is going to be a factor in evaluating the talent. If he goes back into the draft (and he won't), he'll be a second or third rounder.

It's not like he's going to be playing baseball...

McGahee's agent is meeting with the Bills GM this weekend in Baltimore, according to ESPN. The agent (Rosenhaus) says McGahee is ready to start practicing today...which I find hard to believe.

As far as having two guys in front of him on the depth chart, if he's healthy, McGahee will write T. Henry's ticket out of Buffalo easily. Olandis Gary? He has no chance to beat out a healthy Willis.
