I've been a Card fan for 33 years and will be until A) I die or B) they change their name. I'm also an everyday reader of this forum. I don't post much and after reading the garb I've seen here for the past few days I know why.

We need to remember, we are Cardinal fans. To say our team has sucked is an understatement. The fact is we are going through change right know and I find it interesting to witness some folks approach change with open arms while others pull their freakin' hair out.

We have a couple of YEARS to go before we can determine whether Green really knows what he's doing or whether he turns out to be another Buddy of ours. I would ask that we try to remain as objective as possible, why not poste material that holds some value versus starting these attacks on each other? It appears the internet has given geeks the ability to form gangs. I don't consider myself a geek, but I'm most certainly a Cardinal junky and feel like I have something in common with all of you. Not that any of you care, but this is the reason you find so many readers of this site classified as trolls.

Cardinal fans are few and far between. Let's agree to disagree. One last point - Green may be a self-centered, over-hyped S.O.B., but he appears to be proud to wear that Cardinal logo on his hat, and as far as I'm concerned that should at least give him some time (2 seasons??).

Oh, one more thing. For those of you who read that last sentence and thought to yourselves "Of course he seems proud to wear the Cardinal logo given how much money he just got paid!", I'm appealing to you.

Good post. I think Denny will build a winner here but it will be a painful process for many. The series of injuries to the key playmakers will impact the offense significantly for the first half of this year.

Am I the only one who thinks the reaction to us "turning on each other" is just as overblown as the reaction to Green's moves?

I didn't see any swear words but apparently there were some, beyond that I didn't see much the last 2 days that beyond the norm, just a lot more posts. I certainly didn't take any of it personally and I tend to assume neither does anybody else, but maybe that's not true?

Hell, Joeshmo and Skorp have convinced me to completely change my mind on the Kendall release, and anybody who knows me knows what a stubborn person I can be so I for one found some of the exchanges to be quite good.

Just my 2 cents.

Russ, you changed you mind on the Kendall thing? Interesting. This doesn't seem to happen much on message boards.

Yep, without too much detail I pm'd Joe asking about his comments on Kendall in Seattle, turns out Kendall's rep there was exactly the same as what Green seemed to think here. Apparently Holmgren felt Kendall was undermining him there enough so that he actually tried to trade Kendall near the draft one year(and not for a first rounder).

That and Skorps post saying Kendall was undermining Green and leading a clubhouse revolt sort of clicked. I still think Pete was our best OL and losing him will hurt the OL short term but I completely understand why Green felt he had to make the move in light of the Seattle stuff. Apparently Green isn't the first guy who felt Kendall was divisive, I hadn't heard any of that stuff before Pete got here.

Now I must say with you being so open minded, I respect your candor in admitting you changed your mind. That is cool. Hope others follow your lead and at least listen to other peoples logical opinions even though they may not be right.

I'll admit to being a stubborn so and so but if you beat me over the head with enough evidence I will eventually come around.

Just don't ever bring up global warming, carpool lanes, or metering lights and we'll get along fine :)

Welcome aboard Clif.

I think solo drivers in car pool lanes should get fined based on how many cars they hold up in morning rush hour when they get pulled over. Say, $50 per gawker.

Perhaps $1000 per mile spent in the HOV lane would help as well.

How anyone can draw a conclusion about Green and this year's team at this point is beyond me.

I am not a "fan" of this team, however, living in the valley, of course I want to see them do well, if for no other reason, for the sake of those who are fans.

Having said that, my approach to this organization is simple. Every year, expect the worst, anything else is a bonus.

I think Green is a guy who can turn them around, but it won't happen overnight. Sometimes it does, but you don't erase a history like the Cardinals have in a couple of months.

Green has been a winner his entire career. He has a proven record and it is about time the Cardinals were able to coax someone of his stature to come here and give it a shot. I would think all minds would be wide open at this point, but after reading some of this stuff, I guess not.

For the ones who are less optimistic, I think they deserve to feel that way. How much worse can this franchise get? Looking at their history, it seems they have hit rock bottom a number of times. It will either be a pleasant surprise or business as usual for this team.
