Said it in the game thread, but Kyler is closer to Daniel Jones than he is Patrick Mahomes in the QB pecking order. He’s played enough awful games in a row to bring him down a few notches. Some of it is Kliff’s ineptitude and a decent portion is Kyler’s lack of development of the intangibles of the position

He said elite QB. Burrow is mid

Umm Burrow had an elite level season last year and won 3 playoff games and was within minutes of a Super Bowl victory. All with a trash online arguably the worst in football. What has Kyler accomplished? In Almost every experts eyes Burrow is elite.

But cool story bro.

Their online blows. Trying to say otherwise is just silly.
Did I say they have a good OL? They have added talent to it, but they need some time. They also played one of the better front 7’s in football.

You must not watch the games. Burrow was mid to bad during that playoff run. His team carried him especially the defense. He sucked again yesterday. "Elite" in no way.

Whatever you think of Burrow, there’s not one sane person who’d take Murray over him today. Kyler’s lack of development is making him get lapped by 2019-2020 QBs
You’re taking the bait set by Bidwill/Keim and their state media cronies. Kyler doesn’t matter. Kliff sucks but he doesn’t matter either. They could be prime Brady/Belichick and yet we’d still not compete with the elite teams due to the rest of the roster.

Fair. But transcendent QBs
Can mask many roster deficiencies. Peyton Manning made many average GMs and HCs look like stars. This is not saying that Keim and Kliff are absolved from blame because both are awful at their jobs, but Kyler is not mature enough to lead a team to a championship

Do you have any stats to back up that claim? Or are you just basing it on yesterday's game.

1. The bar for any player shouldn’t be one of the top 5 quarterbacks ever to play football.

2. If you think our overall roster is any way comparable to the 2000’s Colts team you’re legitimately insane.

Watch the games. What winning plays did he make yesterday? How about against the Rams in the playoffs. Dude is consistently getting outplayed by the QB on the other side of the field, and not just by guys like Mahomes and Stafford. Jared Goff schooled him last year (!)

This is inexcusable

Never equated this to the Peyton Colts teams, but I expect Kyler to not make this team look like Jacksonville

I live in NY and get to see a lot of Daniel Jones. I thought that was the guy you were referring to. Did you mean the Jones who plays for NE?

We aren't talking about Kyler here so not sure why you're going there. No, Kyler is not elite. Kyler can be a very good quarterback when he has sufficient talent around him. With Hopkins on the field, he's played every bit as good as Burrow plays with his WR1, Jamarr Chase. Neither of these quarterbacks are good enough to overcome bad talent on the O Line and bad WRs. Take Chase away from Burrow yesterday and his game would have gone from "bad" to "disastrous". Having that insane playmaker you can throw the ball to on every play is a game changer.

The only QBs in the league elite enough to perform at a very high level consistently with a lack of talent around them are Brady, Rodgers, and Mahomes in my opinion. Josh Allen is an extremely good quarterback as well but he struggled until the team traded for Stefon Diggs. But he's getting close to that tier.

So ultimately, is Kyler good enough to put the team in contention every year no matter what? NO. Is Kyler good enough to be an MVP frontrunner and have the team go 7-0 when the O Line is healthy and his #1 target is healthy? Yes.

Passer rating of 100 means you weren’t horrible. Threw for 2 & his legs set up a 3rd touchdown. Many QB’s were significantly worse yesterday, but their defenses at least allowed them to stay in the game. That has never been afforded ever to Murray in his entire career with the Cardinals, with the exception of about 5 games early last year. And we win all 5. Of the 30 QB’s that have played this weekend, 22 had lower passer ratings than Murray, and many were significantly lower.
Stafford 63
Burrow 62
Hurt 82
Jones NE 87
Rodgers 68
Carr 69
Brady 87
Prescott 47

The Cardinals D allowed Mahomes a whopping 144 passer rating. As bad as the Rams played, even Allen was only at 112. Daniel Jones had a 116 rating. Just pays to have a HC who saved Josh Allen’s career too. You can sit here & blame Murray all you want, but you won’t win many games or even be competitive when your D allows a 144 passer rating.
Murray couldn’t have won yesterday with our defense. But he also sucked and couldn’t even make it competitive. Defending anyone from yesterdays debacle is a fools errand.

It is.

A lot of people are going to dump this all on Kliff, and while he does have a large part of it, let's not forget the reality. These are professionals. These are not amateur athletes. Some of this is on the players. Some of this is on the players who are leaders. Peers have to hold each other accountable. So, if players aren't running routes like game reps, the QB needs to call that out. That is why he gets paid 250 mil. Some of it is on Keim. You can't be begging for guys to not retire and expect them to be 100% dedicated.
Yup. All of this. If Hollywood saw this and didn’t go to his buddy and say “yo kyler, this doesn’t feel right, the Ravens would be doing x,y,and z” and then kyler didn’t try to get his squad to that level they’re both to blame as well. All of them are.

This. Very much this. Nobody is blaming him for the loss. Plenty are blaming him for not even keeping the score close. Horrible "top 3" QB play.

We can’t fire the owner, though. Somehow Bruce Arians was able to overcome it and make us competitive for a short while. Then Keim and Michael got jealous.

Kliff is in over his head but it’s hard to imagine another NFL coach with options eating as much ish as he does and hanging around.

Saying Kyler is closer to Daniel Jones is a strong claim. Kyler was too close to Kirk Cousins to get the bag in his third year. Now we’re seeing that he might actually be slightly worse than Cousins instead of slightly better.

We probably still have the best QB in the division, but it didn’t take long for this to become the NFC Worst again. Imagine hosting a playoff game at 8-9.

He put his team in position to win many times yesterday and his Oline was like a sieve

The kicker let them down

He threw 4 picks, fumbled the ball twice, and his defense bailed him out by allowing 20 points despite his ineptitude. The Burrow "elite" narrative is comical.
