Nice!!! Do season ticket holders get any dibs on tickets?

I was in Tempe for the Dallas/Pitts bowl, and next to Mardi Gras that was the best party I've attended. Mill was off of the charts!

There's a lottery I think for the season ticket holders - If my Dad won back in the day, I was going with him - that still holds over for 2008 Ouchie!

Thats Super....the Glendale contingency has to be doing back flips. While the rest of the Valley looks on at what could have been. Hope that the Glendale Dome gets on a rotation for every 5th Superbowl...and can be an everlasting bad taste in the mouth of Mesa, Tempe, and especially the suicidal ones in Phoenix. Congrats to the Cards and to the West Valley. Vision is more than 20/20

CHICAGO - Start spreading the news: Arizona has the 2008 Super Bowl.

National Football League owners voted Thursday morning in downtown Chicago to bring their title game back to the Valley with Super Bowl XLII in the Arizona Cardinals' new stadium in Glendale. The game is slated for Feb. 3, 2008.

Arizona beat out Washington, D.C. and Tampa, which has hosted three previous Super Bowls.

Metro Phoenix became the front-runner after the New York Giants withdrew from consideration earlier this month. And Arizona benefited by having Giants owner Wellington Mara, a well-respected owner, enthusiastically throw his support behind the Arizona Cardinals and owner Bill Bidwill, a longtime friend.

The Arizona Super Bowl Bid Committee also used Gov. Janet Napolitano, who aggressively courted owners for their votes during a reception Wednesday night and Thursday morning.

The committee now must start raising roughly $12 million and finding up to 20,000 volunteers to host the game.

The game is projected to bring an estimated $400 million economic impact to the Valley with thousands of high-spending out-of-town fans. The game also will attract international media attention for metro Phoenix during one of the most beautiful times of the year.

The last Super Bowl played in Arizona was 1996, when Super Bowl XXX was in Sun Devil Stadium. Dallas beat Pittsburgh.

If your team is in it, there is usually a lottery for the season ticket holders. If your team is not in it, I am not sure how it works, but I doubt they have a lottery. The tickets given to each team that is not in the game are considerably less than the tickets given to the two teams it it.

I know at least back when the Super Bowl was here, season tickets holders for the Cards had a better shot of getting tix than any other other team - there was a lottery for like 5 or 10gs worth of tickets.

Great job Glendale. Right now there's just a hole in the ground but wait until you see it in 5 years. That area around the Cardinal Stadium and the Coyote Arena is going to be the "hot" spot of the valley.

Great Job Glendale and the Cardinals.

Another reason to renew the season tix.

Memo to Bill Bidwill:

Please spend the money to put together a team that might have a chance at playing in the 2008 Super Bowl.

Thank you in advance for your careful attention to this matter.

Great news, but expected. Great job by the Cardinals, Glendale, the bid commitee, and above all...the incredibly smart people that had the foresight to pass proposition 302.

By the way, I was drawn for Super Bowl tickets in 96. Sold them to a Steeler fan for 1600.00. If it happens again in 2008, I hope it's a home game for the Cardinals.
