I'd take him.

It could work out three ways:

1. He sucks and we get an extended audition and he helps with lottery balls
2. He's meh and he doesn't push the needle at all and we lose a 2nd rounder
3. Solid player and we hopefully get a better chance at keeping him.

The problem is that the Suns have Monroe, Chandler, and Len, two of whom are in the same situation as Okafor- auditioning for the next contract. None of them can play the 4 successfully. There is just no room/ playing time unless other pieces get moved.

Definitely. For a second-rounder, given that the team is near the salary floor anyway, I don't see any downside.

As you point out, the Suns would have to make room. There is a chance some or all of the above Suns players may not be here next season. Even Chandler could get traded.

The advantage the Suns would have with Okafor in free agency (providing he works out), is they will have the money to sign him as contrasted with many NBA teams who have overspent.

I would take Okafor in a heart beat at least gives us some offense. We got a million second rounders

Wasn't Fizdale like the hot new coach last season.

Reading the article explains why teams do not want to trade for Okafor. Any team that trades for him can only offer him 6 million as a free agent, while other teams can offer more. It is a consequence of Philly not picking up his fourth year option. If there is any chance of wanting Okafor longer than for this year, you do NOT want to trade for him, even if you gave up nothing.

No team in their right mind would trade for Okafor. There is absolutely no advantage in it. If he is bought out, its another matter. Teams that sign him as a FA can resign him for whatever they want.

I can see the advantage to a team that views him as a rental they won't keep around like Cleveland but I think Cleveland and Golden State are the only teams that would look to get him solely for this season.

Sprained MCL for Blake Griffin, per source. Will be out a while, but Clips are relieved it wasn't worse.

The thought passed through my mind, with Blake out for a couple of months with a sprained ACL, would the Suns consider putting an attractive trade package together to try to obtain him.

The Clippers are not going anywhere and the Suns have already shown interest in him. Automatically the Suns would have another star to add with Booker for next season.

I know, he has a history of injury but he is young enough and a star. I could see McDonough doing something like this.

I don't see the Clips doing it. They just signed him long term.

But just for giggles. TJ, Chriss, Monroe and a pick.

Hard part for teams that could be interested in DeAndre Jordan is that the All-Star does not have an agent. Hard to do any back channeling to see if DAJ is a short term rental or would commit long term.

I agree. It's only a fantasy but the Clippers are heading backwards.

Actually I like what you propose but it may take a couple of first round picks. Can we substitute Dudley for Warren. LOL

Griffin makes Monroe's salary look cheap. ;)

Also I bet the Clippers are already feeling buyer's remorse for signing Griffin to that new contract.

That's kind of a dumb observation. You can't trust anything agents say anyway. "Gee, if only we had another compulsive liar to help guide us in this decision."

Lebron gets ejected in the first half of the Cavs vs Heat in Miami. This is the first time Lebron has been ejected in his 14 year career. I think that says something about superstar treatment right there. He's played more games and minutes than anyone else has in those 14 years and not 1 ejection? That's hard to believe with how much complaining he does. He's a great player but he whines a lot.

Wilt never fouled out of a game in his NBA career, 14 years. I'm not quite old enough to have seen much of his career but as awesome as he was you have to assume some bias to never foul out.

on LeBron, I can't seem to find the clip to post it but there's one floating around now of a recent game where he drove in, did a euro step, then left the ground, came back down with the ball, went up and laid it in. He actually not only walked, he walked twice. The entire opposing team turns to the ref with their hands up in the air like wtf are you looking at. Great player but he clearly gets the benefit of the doubt from refs.

That's the one thanks. If they play it on a bit all 3 Philly defenders are looking at the refs like what in the hell are you doing. The first time I saw it I thought the ref thinks Simmons touched the ball, LeBron released it, caught it and layed it in but even that's a huge stretch the ball is in his hand the whole time he doesn't actually release it.
