Although Bogut appears to be nearing the end of his career but add that with the trade for Brook Lopez, free agent signing of Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, some minor signings and the draft (Ball), the Lakers appear to be taking this season seriously. They also will have created room with expiring contracts to add at least one max player next season and compete this season.

Good one less team that tanks ahead of us (although fairly certain if they end up in the lottery they'll get the second pick for the fourth year in a row somehow [fixed]).

All is not well in paradise.

Fourteen of the thirty NBA teams lost money during the 2016-17 season. The Suns were one of them prior to revenue sharing. Many NBA teams are pushing to go into new arenas to help pay for the cost of player salaries.

"Teams in small markets are told we need to run our businesses better so we can make money," one ownership source told ESPN.com. "But teams in the largest markets can run their businesses poorly and still make money."

"National revenues drive up the cap, but local revenues are needed to keep up with player salaries," one owner explained to ESPN. "If a team can't generate enough local revenues, they lose money."

The rich teams will not always want to share revenues with the poor teams.

Even the Spurs lost money.

And now he's claiming he wasn't trying to pretend to be a third person. No one believes him. Amazingly talented and a big bitch.

Many a truth is said in jest. Don't many of the opposition's home town fans consider who the opponent is when deciding if they are going to buy tickets? Which affects overall revenue. Which might explain why the Spurs are losing money. There are only so many hot draws in the NBA.

'Hey, y'all, the Suns are coming to town. Let's rush out and buy tickets.' :)

Points of emphasis for NBA refs this season: closeouts (player safety) and continuation plays on the perimeter (mostly involving screens).

Shams Charania @ShamsCharania

Minnesota’s Andrew Wiggins is progressing toward a five-year, $148M maximum extension, hopeful to sign soon, sources tell The Vertical.

Better have your core players under contract for awhile when paying these type salaries.

The Suns will be looking get players under contract before they max out Booker when the time comes.
