I have a bizarre love of Bill Walton as a broadcaster. Hearing him as a consistent color guy would probably be a bit much, but getting him once or twice a month is just about right. Hearing lines like "That was the worst inbounds pass in the history of LA Clippers basketball" always cracks me up.

He has a lot to think about while he's talking. I don't think he's a very good broadcaster, but I respect him for hanging in there and making it work.

He's not actually ignorant he's very intelligent. The big issue for him on games is he doesn't talk about the game he's working.

I often just turn the sound off when Bill is working a game I figure he's not going to talk about the game anyways. He's calmed back down he really lost it the last year of Howland it was personal for him.

This is on target. No wonder Walton drives me crazy.

My biggest problem with Walton is his constant over-the-top hyperbole. Shaq is the Grand Canyon, watching Nash was like listening to Mozart, and 5000 other examples just as ridiculous.

He really works hard to be an entertainer.

There was a season when he called everything "the worst whatever of the franchise history, or someone's career." Then he had a phase when he called everything a "great American tragedy" or some other nonsense.

That’s actually why I love listening to him. My favorite example of this was watching a Lakers Blazers game back in early 2000’s. It was a back and forth game, a little sloppy but with three minutes left it was 100-99 Lakers.

The Blazers had a chance to take the lead the next four trips, but couldn’t do it which prompted Walton to say:

“This (re: Blazers) is the worst offensive performance in the history...” then he paused as if trying to get the next words back in his brain, but then said ever so slowly... “of the N...B...A”.

My friends and I lost it.

Haha!!! I just posted about one of those “worst” calls.

Would definitely expect several good/playoff contenders to check on Ramon Sessions, waived today by the Knicks. Just 31 with a lot of good basketball left in him.

There are fresh fears in Utah that Thabo Sefolosha’s knee sprain suffered Friday night in Charlotte could be a long-term injury, league sources say. Definitive diagnosis is expected this weekend.

In today's Arizona game he said it was the best game he'd ever seen an Oregon player play. Then Dave Pasch said it's the first time you've seen him play right and he said "both statements are true."

Lakers win 4th straight w/OT win at Dallas; now have sixth-worst mark (15-27) in the NBA. If that held the rest of the season, L.A.’s 2018 first would convey to Philly (who gets the Lakers’ pick if it’s first overall or between 6-30) rather than Boston (picks 2-5).

That pick must have one of the strangest trade histories since the NBA was founded.

Can confirm wild details from Staples Center: Chris Paul, James Harden, Trevor Ariza, Gerald Green going to Clippers locker room with Austin Rivers, Blake Griffin in their sights through backdoor. Security stops it before it happens (with Capela turned away at front door). Geesh.
