that sucks for the NBA playoffs. Would have been pretty fun to watch Kyrie v. LeBron to go to the Finals.

Would’ve been a fun 4 games.

Right now everything is going the Cavs way. Boston was probably the leading contender but with both Hayward and Kyrie out no chance so probably Toronto who are a good team but have never been that far before.

Then if they get to the finals they are looking at the Rockets who have both Nene and CP3 dealing with injuries that might linger, Nene the back and CP3 his hip. Or the Warriors who have 3 injured starters back but still don't have Curry back.

Sort of like 3 years ago when it seemed every series the Warriors played the other team had a key injury or two.

one thing that doesn't get mentioned about the greatness of LeBron is quite simply his ridiculous durability. The guy has played more games than anyone during his 14 years, takes a licking but keeps on ticking, seemingly NO MATTER WHAT.

Yes we have not found his kryptonite yet.

Irving will undergo another procedure on Saturday to remove two screws from his patella that were inserted in 2015 to repair a fracture he suffered in that year's NBA Finals. The team said a bacterial infection was discovered at the site of the screws when Irving had his most recent surgery, on March 24, to remove tension wire in the knee and that Saturday's procedure will ensure no infection remains in the knee. The wire had been placed in his knee during the same surgery in which the screws were inserted in 2015.

The Clippers are officially eliminated from the playoffs ending a six-year streak of postseason appearances.

I can only hope that "The Timeline" produces close to what "The Process" has for the Sixers. This should be the final draft where we add to our core and if we're moving forward with Booker, Jackson, and Ayton then I think we have a damn good chance of being as good as Philly in 2 years. It won't happen next year unless we can also add a star through a trade or free agency but the playoffs in the 2019-2020 season should be a possibility.

Thing about the Sixers is they have solid role guys too. Covington and McConnell were both UDFA’s signed by Hinkie.

We really need 2/3 of Bender/Chriss/Shaq to pan out.

I don't think it matters if Shaq pans out. I wouldn't include him with Chriss and Bender. We need one of them to pan out or be able to get good value in return for them. We have Booker, Jackson, and Warren as our best young players. Warren is a role player, of sorts, as a super 6th man next year when we move Jackson into the starting 5. Hopefully Knight can turn it around and be a productive player for us because he should be able to provide more than Daniels did for us this year as a scoring guard off the bench. We need a more reliable PG but I expect that is something they'll look to address in free agency.

Remember, it took a LOOOONG time for them to finally get to this point. Hope for the result, not the time it took to get there.
That had a lot to do with Embiid missing his first 2 seasons and Simmons also missing his first season. It may have happened quicker had they been healthier earlier.

The Rockets lose Luc Mbah a Moute for the next 6 weeks due to an injury he suffered in a meaningless game for the Rockets against the Lakers today. Despite the Rockets having the #1 seed clinched and home court advantage throughout the playoffs they've still played their starters and key players in big minutes, which is typical Mike D'Antoni. Not sure if he'll ever change but if he doesn't ever win a career during his coaching career I think that will be one of the main reasons. He seems to put too much importance on every regular season game and doesn't allow his players to rest at all even when they clinch high playoff spots. James Harden and Chris Paul have both played regular minutes over the last 6 games that I checked and so have other Rockets. Now there is an injury to a key player for them that could hurt them in the 2nd round, assuming they get out of the 1st round.

I wonder how long it will be for Rockets fans to start turning on D'Antoni because of his short rotations and lack of defense. If they lose Capela in free agency their defense will take a big hit also. They managed to win a franchise best 65 games this year so far, which is their first 60+ win season also. He's helped turn them into a contender and I think they have a shot at winning a title nowadays since defense isn't as important as it was a decade ago but things still slow down in the postseason and they'll need to be able to get stops. I don't think they can outscore Golden State either, not with Curry, Durant, and Klay. I know the Rockets are sort of in a honeymoon phase with D'Antoni still because he brought them back to contention but if he can't deliver a title in the next year or two then I'm not sure he'll be able to at all. Harden will be 30 after next season and the Rockets don't have the training staff that the Suns did. Harden may be able to play good into his 30's but Paul is already on the wrong side of 30 and getting older, he's got maybe a year or two before his production drops off a lot also. They don't have any young talent poised to step up and take the spot of Paul or any of their starters. Their forward rotation is pretty old right now with Ariza, Tucker, Mbah a Moute, and Ryan Anderson being the 4 forwards they use.

Westbrook needs 16 rebounds tonight to average a triple double for the season.

That's insane.
