I like Curry but I have zero sympathy for the Warriors. If they got knocked out in the 1st round by virtue of injuries my perspective would be that their potential future opponants are now less likely to deal with fate altering injury now that the Warriors are out of the picture.

I've never had my perspective on a team flip as severely as the Warriors. Their first title I was rooting for them all the way, and then they rapidly turned into the dirtiest team I've ever seen. The only thing I know for certain about the Warriors right now is that if they get in a tough series the opposition's best players need to watch their ankles, knees and groins, because Green and Pachulia are going to be doing their best to target tendons and testicles.

Totally with all of this.

As if the NBA doesn't have issues already with teams tanking at the end of the year, the Warriors will be without Steph Curry for the next 3-4 weeks because of an MCL sprain and the Celtics will be without Kyrie for the next 3-6 weeks because he just had surgery on his knee. Hopefully both are able to return for the playoffs because I'd hate to see the Warriors or Celtics knocked out in the first round because of injuries to their star players.

I was looking forward to a Cleveland vs Boston rematch from last year only it would be Kyrie vs Lebron now. I haven't heard any more about Gordon Hayward returning for the Celtics playoff run but I know that is something that's been discussed since his injury happened. If he could return for the playoffs that would be huge for the Celtics. I don't think they would start him but having a scorer like him come off the bench would be big.

NBA ratings are up 30% over last year. Much to my surprise, tanking, injuries and the GS Super team thing haven’t hurt the league.

Those NBA ratings you are talking about don't include tanking teams, and if they do, it's because the tanking team is on the losing side of a shellacking by the non-tanking team. The NBA is a bandwagon league, and ratings prove it, however healthy it makes the league appear.

I’m just as shocked as you are, but they include the entire season across all networks.

The 76'ers have clinched a playoff birth, so "The Process" is essentially over. Hopefully "The Timeline" works as well for the Suns. Saw a weird note about the Sixers making the playoffs, J.J. Redick has never missed the playoffs in his 12 year career. He's played for 4 different teams throughout that time, the Magic, Bucks, Clippers, and now the Sixers. He almost missed them during the 2012-13 season but he was dealt at the deadline to the Bucks. The Magic missed the playoffs that season but the Bucks made it as the #8 seed. It looks like the Clippers will miss the playoffs this year also but he left in free agency during the offseason.

Maybe the Suns can sign him this summer to help end their playoff drought. While we do need 3pt shooting I don't see him making that much of a difference here. I think he'll get more money elsewhere than the Suns could offer also.

Pending the results of surgery, Embiid could return to play in 2-4 weeks, per league source. First round obviously in some jeopardy.

I believe this may be similar to the Joe Johnson injury when he played for the Suns.

Jimmy Butler took part in five-on-five action today for the first time since his Feb. 23 meniscus injury, I'm told, and it went well. The T-Wolves star remains on track for a return before the playoffs, but his return date remains unclear. Minnesota plays at Denver Thursday.
