Melo on sacrifice in relation to reduced role, coming off the bench: "I'm not sacrificing (with) no bench role." "I think everybody knows I've sacrificed damn near everything, and was willing to sacrifice nearly everything for this situation to work out."

He even sacrificed shooting accuracy, so that Westbrook would look better in comparison. Guy's a hero in my book.

Kind of surprised by that. I thought Stotts might be fired but if that was the plan they probably wouldn't allow a top assistant to interview elsewhere but we'll see. I don't think he should be fired now but I haven't paid close enough attention to judge either way. They've overachieved the last few years without Aldridge though.

I wouldn't say they've overachieved in the postseason without Aldridge.

I would say they've overachieved as a whole because they shouldn't have made the postseason without Aldridge. Sure, they've come up short once there but that's a different issue.

Carmelo says OKC didn't have a plan to utilize his talents.

"It wasn’t no strategy to me being here" http://slam.ly/melo-strategy

They also wanted him to play PF, so he should have done that rather than camp at the 3pt line. He was also reluctant to take a bench role. He holds the cards now, he can opt out but he won't. Seems like he's stirring the pot so they'll trade him and he doesn't lose out on a ton of money that's guaranteed in the final year of his contract. He's due something like $28 million. I believe his no trade clause is still in effect so they can't ship him just anywhere. I don't see Russ quietly sitting back while Melo causes drama though so Melo is just shooting himself in the foot. If he won't get traded then he's looking for a buyout and I don't see the Thunder doing that unless he surrenders a ton of money. Like I said, he can opt out if he wants out so bad.

He is the biggest hot potato in the league. There is absolutely no one that would take that contract and that player.

I don't even think he's a hot potato anymore. IMO he's an empty plate. If someone wants to pay his salary they deserve the misery they've signed up for. It's not like he just fell apart when he went to OKC, he's been a dead end for many years now.

San Antonio assistant Ime Udoka will interview for the Orlando Magic coaching job this week, league sources tell ESPN. Udoka has also met with Charlotte.

Sources: After interviewing Golden State assistant Mike Brown, Knicks have completed candidate interviews and huddling to reach a final decision on next coach.
