Agreed. It was a basketball play - trying to block a shot. F2 - sure. But not intentional like Green does
IT was a dirty play IMO. Brooks has a history with the Warriors.

He didn't intend to break his elbow that happened when Payton tried to break his own fall but he absolutely hit him in the head on purpose he is nowhere near the ball. Payton has the ball in his left hand extended in front of him leaning forward, Brooks is behind him he puts his left hand on the right side of Payton's upper body to slow him up and then clotheslines him across the neck and head. I don't know what Kerr meant by break code I think that's wrong but it was not a basketball play he was trying to make a hard foul to send a message.

I think he'll get heavily fined. I think Draymond will too flipping off the crowd when he got hurt will get him fined.

Still a big middle finger. GP2 is very likable and works hard. He brings X-factor to Dubs. It’s a huge loss and I’m pissed.

Like I said last night they are saying on local tv they think it's a radial head fracture. it's one of the bones that makes up the elbow when you brace the fall your hand and wrist gets pushed up on impact and it breaks the head of the bone on the other end at the elbow. Hurts like hell

Major injury cast for a few weeks, weeks of physical therapy to get the bend back in your elbow, it gets locked from being in the cast. To this day I don't have full bend in mine I was nearly 40 when I broke it but I can't fully extend my left arm straight anymore. Payton will get great medical help but for a guy who's struggled to stick in the league and is in a contract year, huge blow.

On the foul call on Green against Morant on the rebound the reason he's so pissed is you have to look at the entire play. they miss a shot and Ziare Williams is behind Green, pushes him in the back and gets the long rebound. they're going for a long board it's not a huge push or anything it's certainly a play that goes uncalled as a foul in the NBA often. So they get the ball back miss again and then Draymond gets that foul for far less contact against morant. That's why he slammed the ball like that.

But again he wanted a foul that frankly often isn't a foul and he can't let a skinny guy like Williams dislodge him like that

In case people didn’t know that Dillon Brooks has been a piece of **** for a while

Lol. That is absolutely the stupidest looking thing I’ve ever seen on a basketball court. But that’s a flop. Doesn’t go to his being dirty argument.

Given how Ja is shooting 3's they may not even make it to the Suns without Payton to help guard him. Lee can play but he's not quick enough to guard Morant and they're not going to trust a 19 year old rookie in Moody on him. Wiggins is going to end up taking on the task more so they don't have foul concerns with poole, Klay and Steph on him
Man reading this you’d think it was 2-0 griz heading back to Memphis. You stole a game and claimed home court and are heading back to GS for two games. I’ll still be surprised if the warriors don’t come outta that side of the bracket.

Agree. Was surprised he didn’t a tech for slamming the ball.

Draymond should get fined and should’ve gotten a technical for his taunting toward the end of the game as well

The good thing is the Warriors game plan is make Ja shoot 3's. He made 4 in the entire T wolves series, he's 9 for 23 in this series. All wide open but if he can shoot it that well and they still only got 1 win and both games were close, that bodes well.

But again the reason Payton was starting is to guard Morant, and keep fouls away from the other 3 guards so they can play that 3 guard death lineup at key points in the game. Without Payton that changes their entire defensive strategy on Morant. They're not going to start Lee or Moody so my guess is they might start Porter, who played so well last night. They like having 1 of the 3 guards off the bench for offense, if they start all 3 they have to stagger their minutes and the risk of fouling Ja.

no they never call it if you catch it that low. It has to really bounce to get one.

I should know the very first time I touched the ball in a HS basketball game they called me for a walk, I bounced the ball up high and got a T. 20 seconds into my first game as a freshman! Coach told me i've been telling you in practice if you do that in a game, you will get a T. I did.

if they T up every player who waives when someone fouls out they're going to do it all the time.

He should get fined for the flip off, the waive to Jackson that happens in every game. Morant did it to the entire warrior team at the end of the game.

Been saying this since last year these 2 teams do not like each other and it all goes back to a cheap shot Brooks took on Curry early last year. Then the Grizz knocked the Warriors out in the playin last year and the beef got worse. The Grizz are an up and coming team and the Warriors and them do not like each other.

ESPN story says the league is expected to suspend Brooks for 1 game. They apparently will meet with members of both teams to discuss the play but it sounds like based on precedent with 2 other similar plays this year in the playoffs he will get a 1 game suspension.

One was the play where Caruso broke his wrist.

Kerr said they're hoping Iggy will be able to play in game 3 and pick up some of the slack from Payton

This has to be the worst flop I have ever seen. He even projects himself across the floor.

The physicality in the 2022 playoffs seems to be up.

As such, the number of player involved incidents I expect to rise as well.

Of course it will be hard pressed to compete with the Suns-Clippers series in the playoffs last year.

He got 2-3 guys with moves like that his ability to change directions is ridiculous.

Poole tried to get him back down the other end and IIRC he turned it over trying

The problem is you keep getting retaliations. You can almost predict what will happen. Brooks will miss game 3 suspended and come back for game 4 and the Warriors fans will boo him every time he touches the ball, which will be for a few minutes until Draymond or someone else takes a cheap shot at Brooks and knocks him out of the game.

Hopefully it doesn't happen but given his history with the Warriors it's pretty likely someone retaliates.

I fully expect game 4 to be officiated incredibly tightly. I assume Brooks misses game 3 and comes back for 4 and the refs will be on high alert.

Sometimes things happen so quickly there is nothing a referee can do but other times one can see it coming.

I agree, this is one of those series where the referees are going to have to be aware of the bad blood between players. If the referees don't control it, the players will. However, the genie may already be out of the lamp.

Morant beat the Suns on a similar play this past season but the next day the NBA league office ruled it was a travel.

I actually don’t have a problem with draymond waving bye-bye. When I do have a problem is when the refs teed up Jae for his little salsa dance to LeBron but not teeing up taunting like what he did.

Either you te everybody up for taunting because that’s what a wave is or you don’t tip someone like J just be consistent

But he didn’t catch it. The ball got away from him. I’ve seen book and Ayton (just in the Pels series) do it, try to catch it, fail, and get a T.

Tbh I don’t know why it’s ever a technical if you try to catch it. It’s an act of frustration. May even be at yourself and not the ref. If you do it just to essentially throw the ball (like don’t attempt to catch it) I get handing out a tech. But these days if you don’t secure it after the hard bounce they almost invariably call a tech.
