Wouldn't this graph have been more interesting if the vertical axis was average yards allowed on third down? What does EPA add to this equation?xc_hide_links_from_guests_guests_error_hide_media
Murray doesn't look good on the chart. Even worse than Dobbs.xc_hide_links_from_guests_guests_error_hide_media
A big Wow for k'von Wallace's play in coveragexc_hide_links_from_guests_guests_error_hide_media
Does that mean Woods was way better in pass coverage than White? Big oof for Hicks.xc_hide_links_from_guests_guests_error_hide_media
What if we made the whole thread out of charts?I’d like to see a chart of nothing but centers. Centers blocking. Centers holding. Centers making sandwiches.
That would suffice. What if we made the whole thread out of charts?
That do anything for ya?
What about centers cutting blocks of cheese for the sandwiches that they are holding?I’d like to see a chart of nothing but centers. Centers blocking. Centers holding. Centers making sandwiches.
Maybe not; if the average distance to go on 3rd down is 7.5 yards, and you allow 7 yards, that's good! if average distance to go on 3rd down is 6.5 yards, and you allow 7 yards, that's bad! EPA captures that distinction better than raw yards.Wouldn't this graph have been more interesting if the vertical axis was average yards allowed on third down? What does EPA add to this equation?
Does it? How is EPA determined?Maybe not; if the average distance to go on 3rd down is 7.5 yards, and you allow 7 yards, that's good! if average distance to go on 3rd down is 6.5 yards, and you allow 7 yards, that's bad! EPA captures that distinction better than raw yards.
its never too late for the Murray Fits threadThat would suffice.
Before the Steeler game I was this close to posting a thread devoted solely to Murray’s outfits, then decided nah, that’s stupid. One of my all time fails.
I’m down with that. As long as it can be graphed and named something nebulous. What about centers cutting blocks of cheese for the sandwiches that they are holding?
Pretty good explanation here.Does it? How is EPA determined?
What about Cheese cutting blocks of sandwiches for Centers he’s holding? What about centers cutting blocks of cheese for the sandwiches that they are holding?
Rhubarb EPA Chart.I’m down with that. As long as it can be graphed and named something nebulous.
It’s so abstracted tho. I’d much rather see it measured against success rate or something that has more range. The human mind can’t really grok the difference between .05 EPA and .07 EPA but when graphed like this and without interrogating the scale lines it looks like differences are more/less dramatic than they are.Pretty good explanation here.
In the context of 3rd down defense, giving up yardage for a first down allows the offense to continue its drive, resulting in a bigger increase in expected points for the offense.
Ooooo...which center are ya holding Cheesey??What about Cheese cutting blocks of sandwiches for Centers he’s holding?
