So we can put a man on the moon, build all kinds of technology, but we can't locate a ball

Hmmm....
Bullcrap. The Premier League and soccer and determine if a ball crosses the goal line within millimeters.

What the NFL is trying to say is that they don't want to pay the expense of having this technology.

The difference is that in soccer the league only has to implement the technology on the two goal lines, whereas the NFL would have to do it on any area of the field. I don't know anything about the technology, but this could be the obstacle.

True, but we now have 16k TVs and cameras. You might need to install 30-50 cameras in the stadiums. They could install the technology if they wanted to, again at a price. Also, it isn't like we have a promotion/relegation system where the technology would need to be installed in different stadiums each year.

That's only one technology. They could add a second or a 3rd RFID chip as technology as well.

The NFL has been quietly testing technology for years now. YEARS! There's no excuse to not implement it by now. The good thing is that this is causing enough of a stir that something might actually get done.

The

told candidates during their search they were making a serious commitment with an infusion of cash from the new owners. Here it is—Chip Kelly was lured to Vegas with a deal averaging $6 million per year, per sources.Kelly is now the NFL's highest-paid coordinator.

Jaguars owner Shad Khan announced he has appointed former All-Pro left tackle Tony Boselli, the franchise’s first-ever draft selection in 1995 and member of the 2022 class of the Pro Football Hall of Fame, as the team’s Executive Vice President of Football Operations.

NFL will play a regular season game in Melbourne, Australia in 2026 in what will be the first game of a multi-year commitment to play there. The Rams are expected to play in the first game in Australia.
Okay, this is beyond absurd. Obviously it has to be before a bye week, but it also needs to be AFTER a bye week. This is just not doable for hard-core NFL play.

This will ruin whole seasons for a team, mark my words.

They are making it a Week 1 game. So the teams will be able to get out there early and have time to adjust.

However, having just recently traveled to Sydney a few months ago, I can attest that the flight back home really sucked. Took about 2-3 days to get back to somewhat normal. Definitely a disadvantage for the teams forced to travel halfway around the world.
