He was obviously making a joke. But also, making an inquiry in no way means a GM is making a move or is interested in it. It' s just doing due diligence. As in "Oh, they're not going to take a 4th rounder for him? Okay, then no thanks." Or maybe the price is right? But I highly doubt it. Who here thinks Monti actually has the stones to make this move? All evidence to the contrary.

The two last years it would not have made a lot of sense to make a move like this. It does now, but remains to be seen if something happens.
The ESPN breaking news of Garrett to Cardinals before the trade deadline didn’t come without some sort of negotiating by Monti so I would argue hen has the stones.
But without him executing that doesn’t mean much

I'm going to pretend you don't actually think trading a day-two pick for the defensive player of the year finalist pass rusher wouldn't have made sense for us last year when our major bar to the playoffs was the pass rush. Like, it would have been the absolute no brainer obvious thing to do.
