Last night was the 7th start in '24 #Dbacks RHP Zac Gallen threw 6 IP & gave up fewer than 5 H & 2 ER. (Happened just 2x over last 12 GS).

For those clamoring for Zac to stay in the game last night, he exited the 6th at 100 pitches. Season high = 108 pitches. Career high = 115.

There was no reason to keep Zac in the game

I don't know who should close games, but what I can tell you is #Dbacks LHP A.J. Puk has been absolutely ridiculous since donning Sedona red.0.56 ERA, 0.63 WHIP, 19 G, 6 HLD, 16 IP, 8 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 2 BB, 26 K, teams are hitting .143 off him.

#Dbacks LHP A.J. Puk has not given up an earned run since August 2nd.He has literally been one of the best relievers in baseball over the last month.

Since Aug. 9 he is 1 of 4 MLB relievers to have an ERA at 0.00, a WHIP under 0.50 and 10+ strikeouts.

It is a shame that stubborn Lovullo won't try Puk as the closer - especially since the DBacks don't have one at the moment!
