Two-part episode last night. Stupid Lakkke gets lost not listening (as usual) to his wife.

Kinda lame they had a detour one with one place no one could find.

We all have our dirty little secrets :)

If I didn't already have my own cute hippie boy, I would admit to having a massive crush on BJ and Tyler. They are making this race fun and even stopped for a moment to admire the cathedral after they'd found the clue. What? You mean you can enjoy the scenery while racing around the world?

Others are enjoying something a little more than scenery: Eric-Jeremy- Dani-Danielle, let’s all take a moment --YUCK--. These two teams are even helping each other out but if the guys had waited for the retrieval of the forgotten bag, it would have been a sign that they started thinking with the wrong organs.

Our other traveling foursome, Monica-Joseph and Lori-Dave, are all so nice to each other. I don’t really believe they are couples. As much as I dislike Lake and Michelle for their awfulness, I have to admit that under race kind of stress, my cute hippie boy and I, while not turning hateful, would probably drop any "Good job, baby" act right quick too.

First up; Zip across to clue one sending our little band of racers onto the roadblock, where one of them has to jump off a 10 meter diving platform to retrieve their clue from the bottom of the pool. Fear is an interesting thing: Wanda could have jumped off that high dive rather quickly, but the second she stopped to think about it, she froze. Speaking of overcoming fear, how much does Yolanda rule? The woman can't even swim, yet she jumped.

After the pool we encounter our detour, open about a million nesting dolls while riotous Russian music plays and the dancers dance or we could wash a trolley, once we find it, in the freezing cold. It’s a toss up but I think I would have gone for the dolls. Has there ever been such a tiny little clue?

On to the mat, but sneaky Phil has a surprise, as a Race veteran watching the clock creep towards 10 p.m. and with no mention of a pit sop in the tiny little clue I was not really all that surprised, we have a “To be continued…”

I can't believe I missed this episode. I wish I could download it. :(

I think Angel is a writer for a magazine or something. :)

Any comments on last night's episode?

Was kinda happy to see the daughter and mom go. I liked the daughter, but the mom got on my nerves. Thought it was funny when the daughter asked the mom why she said everything with an accent!

Yeah - was not unhappy to see them finish last, although the ideal situation would have been for a tie with the Pinks, and both get the boot.

The Pinks annoy me too - they just follow people around. Funny they followed Team Boriqua and got lost (twice) with them. Plus, if they left, then we would be spared the "hitting on" from Team Brokeback.

It was funny to see them use their moves on the gay German guy on the train.

The Mercedes-Benz ride looked like a blast!

Funny that the Drunk German that Team Dentist picked up was smashed in the middle of the day.

I thought the Detours last night were way too easy and not very exciting to watch.

The Mercedes ride looked fun...but was not difficult. Picking up lawn ornaments is not difficult.

Was it just me...or were people not even doing the dance right, and the guy was still moving them along?? Since when are Germans warm and fuzzy??

I think they were allowing "close" on the Dance - otherwise, I think some of the racers would still be there.

Nothing physically demanding on this half of the leg, but this was the second half of a LONG leg.

If analyzing Races' results, which would turn out to be the biggest factor in determining winners and losers? Uncooperative airline ticket agents, taxi drivers senses of direction or contestants' ability (or inability) to read a map? It seems that teams in this race are trying to get a leg up by forming alliances or at least following each other and have actually hurt their chances. What were Dave and Lori thinking, sharing a cab with MoJo to the “not really” pit stop? I love Team Nerd, but I hope they had no illusions that they could beat the others in a foot race.

We start our race at the mat, unusual yes, but it was interesting to see the different reactions from the teams at the non-pit stop. Pausing here to laugh at my darling hippe boys, one of which tried to tip Phil, our tired little band of racers open their Phil doled clue and we are sprinting to the airport, destination Germany. At the airport two separate ticket agents refuse to issue tickets to racers seconds after selling them to Eric and Jeremy, allowing team LittleBoy a lead followed closely by Lake & Michelle, other teams have to wait it out until morning. However once in Germany things nearly evened out at the Mercedes-Benz test track. Who else was disappointed that the racers themselves didn't get to drive on it? I guess even Jerry Bruckheimer doesn't have that kind of insurance.

At the roadblock, peeking under the feet and hats of Travelocity gnomes, which should have been a piece of cake compared to the Race where the roadblock required one team member unroll enormous bales of hay, other than soliciting whining from some teams, was an uninteresting roadblock, no challenge. Language barriers were a no factor in Germany, although my little hippies surprised me yet again by actually speaking German, where everyone speaks better English than I do. Even that drunk local who helped Lake and Michelle find the gnome farm was relatively articulate.

Smashing or Slapping? The detour choice between bottle smashing, ouch and learning that dance on the surface seemed like a tough decision, but darlings never will I encourage my guy to bust bottle over my head. It would have been dancing for us, even if I have no rhythm. Eric and Jeremy did make the bottle smashing look fun at first but even they said it was getting old. The dancers were letting everyone off rather easily IMO, I'm sure I saw people slap the wrong knee and still get a round of applause and a clue, though one team, I think it was Mojo did a rather good dance. In the end Wanda and Desi’s pessimism, and probably lack of sleep, broke their concentration. Sadly, that means two all-female teams lost in a row and unless they step it up or grant me my wish to see them in a non-elimination leg, the Pinks had better step it up.

The oldies pulled another Gretchen & Meredith by missing the clue box again.

Scott Peterson errrr Lake is a total jackass. I still love the hippies. Those guys are a breath of fresh air - taking in the sites, try to talk in the native language of the country they are in, & are having a good time.

The DD girls are idiots. Serves them right for coming in last. I don't think they know how to read a map or drive a stick shift. They were racing with borrowed time.

Monica is still looking sweet.

The DDs seemed to rely too much on the other teams for help. Can't do that when you're bringing up the rear.

I love the hippies, too. I hope they win. They are so much fun and seem to really appreciate everything around them on the race.

Yeah I think the hippies have to be the favorites, they're smarter than everyone else.

I loved how nobody can pronounce Palermo, especially the blond chick and the guy who said Palomino!

I am still puzzled why Lake yielded the pinks and not Ray and his girlfriend who were in the rear and are clearly the stronger team? Typically you either yield a team everyone hates, or yield the last place team so they get eliminated. They acted like it wasn't personal but surely they could tell there was a team behind the pinks by the number of remaining envelopes there?

I also don't see why the pinks were told no twice when it appeared the statue was fully assembled? Was hers just not quite together right, a couple of pieces twisted, because it didn't appear she added or subtracted pieces. You would have thought the teams would have noticed all the other statues had 2 extra pieces sitting below them but time after time the 2 extra pieces baffled people.

One thing this season is the teams seem to get along together much more, which is probably better for them, but a little less fun to watch for me, sometimes the bickering among teams is the best part.

You could argue that Eric & Jeremy and BJ & Tyler are having fun because they're winning, but I think they're trade the top spots because they are having fun

Our little band of happy racers leave the mat for this leg, destination Italy. How I cringed at everyone's butchering of those very simple, clear syllables: "PAller-mo," "Pamero," "Pallomino.". Come on folks didn’t you ever watch “Moonstruck”? Fran became a minute hero for telling Lake to "Please, step back," at the ticket counter. Maybe the agents in Munich also disliked him too, since they so readily told everyone but them about the faster connection to Palermo.

Detour; sort through laundry or haul a church bell? Let me think? OK long enough. I was concerned that Fran & Barry might make another bad detour decision but only MoJo and Ray & Yolanda chose to wear themselves out with those heavy bells. At the laundry stop Jeremy snuck in a zinger: "This is one of Phil's turtlenecks!" and Dave really annoyed me with “This is too hard”. Please you were looking at laundry tags; ask Ray how hard it was to power up those steps with a bell on his shoulder. The road block; assemble a statue seemed easy enough, though the two extra pieces seemed to throw a lot of teams off, sneaky race creators.

In the end my darling hippie boys are triumphant still cracking the wise when their prize, which was really an ad for Duracell, was revealed and Tyler said: "Whoa! Digital imaging!" I was not surprised when Lake decided they should use the Yield against Dani & Danielle. He's mean and he hates women. I was a bit perturbed at Lori & Dave for not yielding Lake & Michelle. If you've already realized you have a physical disadvantage, my nerdy lovebirds, use the brain God gave you and play your other cards. Again I was not sad to see the D’s depart; they were running a lame race.

Lake - what a jackass!

But at least the Yield came on an elimination leg.

Love the hippies - did anyone else notice their T-shirts? "Bowling Moms"?
