God I hope they finally do Electro. He and Mysterio are my favorite Spiderman villains.

Eh

This should be the last of them. Spiderman doesnt have a very prolific catalogue of villains who the general public will recognize.

I wouldve preferred Kraven the Hunter. Take a more realistic approach like the new Batman trilogy.

Well, that kind of went out the window with the last movie didn't it?

Unfortunately. I guess the comics no longer matter when it comes to making films.

These frigging producers always have to get cute. The last movie, they did the Lizard pretty well but making Electro look like Nightcrawler's light skinned cousin is just ridiculous. Nothing happens to Max Dillon's skin tone when he became Electro but I guess they have to do something to keep the attention of the idiot movie going public.

Three villains in this one by the way...including Paul Giamatti as The Rhino, and Dane DeHaan as Harry Osborn. I wonder if they're jumping over the Norman Osborn's Green Goblin, and going straight into the younger Green Goblin 2.

Not a fan of the look of the Rhino (or any of the villains) in this poster. Bleh.

too many villains. not a fan of emo-spidey either. I think this movie will be a trainwreck.

This movie is giving me the 'Batman and Robin' movie vibe.

Vulture's wings, and Doctor Octopus' arms?

Looks they're setting up a Sinister Six storyline to me.

Just need Kraven the Hunter, Mysterio, and Sandman to go with Electro, Vulture, and Doc Ock.

Yup...or who knows? The way they retcon stuff in the movies (and the comics) it could be any combo. LOL

True.

The new goblin will probably be one of the six. That's sort of what happened in the comics with Hobgoblin joining them after Kraven's suicide.

Huge plot holes in Spiderman (MOVIES ONLY) that just drive me nuts:

If Spiderman really wanted to do something to help people, why doesn't he go kidnap some of those super spiders and turn them lose on cancer patients and sick children? That way they can have super strength, healing, senses also. How bout give it to some policemen or soldiers? It never even occurs to Peter or any of his villians to go get a super spider and let it bite someone else, because the producers think people are too stupid to think of that possibility.

That is the problem with how they tell the creation story in both these Spidey movie franchises. It's totally random, nothing special about Peter Parker he's just a kid who got bit by a super spider and it gave him powers. They never explain or elaborate on there being anything special about Peter Parker that led him from the bite to his powers, and he never considers sharing it with anyone. Atleast in this reboot Peter invents the webbing system so he's got that going for him. In the first franchise the fact that he's a genius is almost totally irrelevant.

I realize it's suspended reality about a guy who gets super spider powers, but it's just bad storytelling IMO.

Saw this today. It was good, but not great.

Oh, the cgi action was terrific (the norm, anymore) and there was a number of funny moments, but it was too long and became wtf at the end, with bad guys popping up that had no development at all. It's like, "oh.... we need to deal with Ms. Stacy so lets cough up the Green Goblin really quick, and oh!!! We'll throw in an incredibly staffed Rhino for big guns at the end. It just didn't work for me.

I didn't see much chemistry between Peter and Gwen, either. Toby Maguire and Kirsten Dunst had much better chemistry, IMHO. And Dana DeHann is just plain creepy looking... James Franco made a much better Harry. And finally, I really like Sally Field, but she's nothing, I mean NOTHING like Aunt May in the comics. Rosemary Harris was perfect in the original Spiderman movies.

A really fun, rollicking opening sequence, but it was troubled from then on.

Don't get me wrong, I didn't feel like walking out or anything, but it just didn't float my boat. Maybe it's because of all the hype and the fact that I saw Captain America last Sunday, which was really, really good.

P.S. Electro was a really good villain, both in appearance and power...... but he was TOO powerful. Based upon what I saw, there are few, if any Marvel heroes who really could have defeated him (Thor, maybe?).

Better then first, but that's not saying much.

And Electro's master plan was...a black out? Ooooooooh scary!

Thought it had some moments, but it paled in comparison to the first two Raimi Spiders and pretty much all of the Marvel produced movies outside of the Hulks and Iron Man 2.
