lol Vikings fans have no room to talk.

Everyone who's been to a Superbowl in the last 30 years please step forward...

Wait, not so fast Viking fans.

We dont have a great history, but people in glass houses shouldn't throw stones.

Yeah not sure why they are so upset with the Cards, but there was a lot of hate going on in that thread you'd think they were talking about the Packers.

Looking at other teams forums and it seems like the consensus is that it's a ton of money but it was probably worth it. They even mention with new rookie scaling it means more for vets for exactly this type of deal.

Minnesota fans all think the Cards are stupid though. I really liked this quote from a Vikings fan.

Who's gonna throw him the ball? Ponder? McNabb? Eh, maybe.

And isn't Minnesota one of the teams to be rumored to possibly be moving to LA?

Crybaby Vikings fans. We always ruin their party (well, except for that one playoff game, but that was a long time ago).

Minnesota has had a hard on for Fitzgerald becoming a Viking ever since he was shagging balls for Cris Carter and Randy Moss as a kid.

Since 2005, there was always some contrived rumor about him being dealt there for some bogus compensation.

Now that Fitz is locked up until he's 34, they'll just have to find the name of their current ball boy and follow him around.

They are, but rumors out here are that the Chargers are the front runners.

Stuck in a crummy, run down stadium (I can attest to this) and the city won't help them build a new one. Plus, they have a large fan base in L.A. not to mention downtown is only a 2 hour drive from San Diego.

Makes too much sense for all parties, unless the city of San Diego actually caves in.

A second team could also move here if the plans to build another stadium in the City of Industry move forward.

It's tough to judge an 8 yr contract on the day it's signed. In 5 years, $15 million/per for an elite receiver could look like a bargain.
Agreed, with the rookie cap in place more money is going to go to the vets, their salaries are going to escalate.

I hear you brother. Fitz is more than just a WR. He is the brand. He's our Swoosh! Our Apple. Our Golden Arches.

BTW: I wasn't far off earlier when I wrote about introducing Fitz as the new 25% owner of the franchise. :)
There is a lot of truth to what you say here DJ. Fitz is part of the front office. He organizes workouts. He puts rookies in his house when they are newly drafted. He represents better than any living player. At least we are dumping a ton of money into a player that is worth it and young instead of an unproven rookie or has been Pro Bowler.

Could you imagine the **** storm that would have ensued had we NOT resigned Fitz? Good god, same old Cardinals line would stick with us for the rest of eternity. Damned if you do, damned if you don't. And I could care less. Fitz is worth every penny, he will have Jerry Rice and Cris Carter like productivity in his mid 30's, so it's not like the guy is going to tank once he hits 30. Rice was putting up 1000 yard seasons when he was what, 38 years old? Fitz doesn't rely on speed to get open, has ridiculous hands and hand eye coordination, and works every bit as hard as Rice did year round.

Andre Johnson got extended through 2016 last season when he was 29 years old, I don't remember people making a fuss over that. Fans are just butt hurt because Fitz just set the bar for big time playmaker money. Minnesota fans must be pissed thinking about what it will cost to keep AD happy.

Either way we cant win. Overpaid/underpaid/outerpaid/innerpaid. There will always be a story. Cards made history tonight, in a good way.

He's not part of the FO and certainly doesn't want to be portrayed as such.

It's a fine line because he knows that being the company man is not something appreciated in the dressing room.

 Really not the same thing. Vikings overpaid for Walker by trading countless players and draft picks to the Cowboys.

If the deal hadn't been done, Freeman and all the Cardinal haters would have been dredging up all the past "Bidwills are Cheap" garbage.

He is the premier Cardinal player and we have him for 8 more years. This was a great move by the Cardinals. He wants to be the best and the Cards to be the best. We won big by this move. Having him and his Qb signed for 5 years minimum is the kind of stability this team needs. Fix the lines like this and we could win consistantly. Well done FO.

So you included the picture simply because you dig the way he looks?

The Cards overpaid only if the CAP remains stagnant or the price for W/O's with Hall of Fame credentials goes down.

Catfish is right, It doesn't matter what is said on here there will be somebody here to "pile it on". My post was quite simple if you just looked at the big picture. OK, ILL GO SLOWLY!.... The Vikings fans were saying that we over paid to keep Larry here...... It was then said on here that people in glass houses should not throw stones (saying that the Vikings were not perfect)(which I agree)...I posted a picture of Walker to solidify the point that the Vikings have made mistakes and their fans should not be the first to criticize someone elses moves. NO WHERE DID I SAY IT WAS THE SAME THING! Maybe some people should not be brushing their teeth with gun powder!

Well, at least you're consistent. You were defensive as hell in your previous post and managed to raise the ante here. It is not unreasonable to read a comment and take for granted that the accompanying picture is there for a reason. Okay, so maybe a few of us misinterpreted your post but there were about a thousand ways you could have responded without showing your ass to one of the more consistent, less argumentative posters (Cardiac) on this board. Just my opinion.

Steve
