Who cares, the media will poo-poo whatever the cards do...The point is we Cards fans have our collective favorite player and FOTF until he retires. Its a good day for us, screw the rest...

I totally agree, LIAC. Until we have a defense that starts to hit the snot out of people and play sound fundamental football, we will continue to be trashed by and not taken seriously by the media. Our defense, more often than not, even in the playoff years, was not playoff caliber, and not even close.

And I don't think it will be this year either but frankly, I can live with that. The organization made a promise to us when the new stadium went up and IMO this is just further proof they are living up to it. Turning this franchise into a consistent winner is not an easy thing and obviously, it's a process that occurs over many years. Changing the media perception will probably take even longer. I'm willing to believe that last year was an aberration and that Michael and Company will continue to try and improve this team.

Vegas, baby, yeah!
Don't care what anyone says on this. Only thing that matters is that we win games.

No. This makes Fitz tied with Richard Seymore for the 5th highest salary in the NFL.

His article is all based on the apparent rules of sophistry that dictate what players at particular position should get paid...in a vacuum.

It's ivory tower thinking. It's unnreal bs, and I called him on it.

The problem with life?? There are so many idiots who choose to believe bs and pretend it's real. His argument is that.

If that is the case, then I feel 10 times better becuase Fitz is head and shoulder more important to our team then Seymore is to his.
Although Al Davis is an idiot and really should be used as a benchmark of what not to do.
Bottom line is Fitz HAD to be re-signed even though it was our front office that put us in this position to have to overpay him to stay.

To me its so obvious there was a direct causal link between this despised and maligned franchise crashing a superbowl and damn near stealing it, and Fitzgerald's legendary performance in the playoffs that year. If there is a player to change the model for, it is Larry Fitzgerald. Just as obvious that Freeman would be the loudest voice criticizing the Cards for letting Boldin and Fitz walk within 3 years. He probably already had his hit piece written.

NEVER said it was the same thing...just said One should never overpay for a player. GOD! some people on here just hang to argue...

All I will say is that I missed the quotes at the top talking about the Vikings fans etc. and after seeing your 3rd post about this got what you were saying. So very clever post on your part and sorry I missed the intent. I'm also sorry you felt you had to go balastic instead of explaining it further, maybe this is what Catfish was referring to?

Well, at least you're consistent. You were defensive as hell in your previous post and managed to raise the ante here. It is not unreasonable to read a comment and take for granted that the accompanying picture is there for a reason. Okay, so maybe a few of us misinterpreted your post but there were about a thousand ways you could have responded without showing your ass to one of the more consistent, less argumentative posters (Cardiac) on this board. Just my opinion.

Steve

I have been meaning to comment on how much I agree with almost everything you post so maybe that's why you don't see me as argumentive. :)

I woldnt take this personal Cards fans. There will always be a contrarian on every subject in today's "look at me" how do we get more readers/ listeners age of media. Once the Colts sign Peyton, I'm sure if you google you can find someone whining about that deal too. I wonder if these guys even believ what they write or if an editor gives them instruction of what side to take and they fill out the words. The only team that can make jack ass move after jack ass move and have it be turned into sheer genius just because they did it is the Pats. You would think someone would remind ESPN and the national media they haven't won it all in 8 years?

Anyway back to Freeman. He doesn't get this team, he doesn't get the dynamic, and he doesn't get Larry. This is akin to some random across the country trying to tell you how to raise your kid. They just don't get the situation like we do.

Don't suffer these fools.

Minnesota has had a hard on for Fitzgerald becoming a Viking ever since he was shagging balls for Cris Carter and Randy Moss as a kid.

Since 2005, there was always some contrived rumor about him being dealt there for some bogus compensation.

Now that Fitz is locked up until he's 34, they'll just have to find the name of their current ball boy and follow him around.
:raccoon::raccoon:

The Vikings made Larry Fitzgerald a ball-boy. The Cardinals made him a multi-millionaire (even prior to yesterday). To which team do you think Fitzgerald would have more allegiance? :newcards:
