Ive no faith in him. Its not his fault he was drafted in the 1st round, he shouldnt have been. Undo expectation was put on him.

He was an underachieving ghost non-contributor in college and hes been an underachieving ghost non-contributor in the NFL.

Why do people hate him? Hes never lied about anything. Hes been very consistent his entire playing career.

"I've been happy with him," Buckner added. "I never got down on him."

That says a lot. They were deep in the rotation and weren't rushing him. He has to avoid INJURY and it should all project up for him. Such a big aspect of having CC. He was almost always in there playing.

Resigning Frostee was a big deal for us .. With CC gone it leaves big shoes to fill but to Jax??? Lmao! Get paid Yo!

CC would've been happier here and I don't care how guilty he feels with publicity of his departure... Go on and get we'll be ok ..no defense remains the same only to win within the division.

And to inflect further I'd rather a divisional team have to switch up the counter of CC than to pay him. There I said it have fun CC.

I never heard of anyone hating Nkemiche.
It's a little bit of hyperbole to say he wasn't productive in college. He was dominant at times and very powerful.
Not a big statistics guy in college, but few down linemen are.

He didn't play much last year, but to be fair, he had a Pro Bowler in front of him.

I think you misspelled "Bust" in the thread title, but I hope I am wrong.

Dead on! Overhyped & underperformed in college based on his "supposed" talent.

Fingers crossed he figures it out. Not sure there are too many on the team with more pressure square on their shoulders than Nkemdiche given the enormous shoes he has to fill.

On Jurecki and Somers' Podcast (I'm paraphrasing), they said that he's matured a lot and that the ankle injury he suffered in TC last year was worse than was led to believe. He's looked good in OTAs.

How that translates to Sundays is a different story.

To play on the Cardinal's defense requires you to be extremely versatile which always made Minter seem so odd because he was not. If Diche can just be solid with what is asked of the guys moving around up front at various formations, I will be satisfied and that is something I think he can surely accomplish in his second year... now being great, that is another story but he does have the talent and will wait and see if he wants to be great :)

People forget that CC barely played his rookie year.

CC = Calais Campbell?

He played all 16 games as a rookie. Besides, he was a 2nd round draft pick. #50 overall. He was not a projected top-5 pick that dropped to #29 and then was invisible as a rookie.

He was stuck behind Antonio Smith, who was pretty good. Bobby was stuck behind Frostee Rucker on one leg and Josh Mauro, who is not.

Defnesive line is one of the hardest positions to make an immediate impact on. I'm not sweating a poor rookie season.

Smith didn't really take off until he left here. No one was sad to see him go when he left because the Texans overpaid, gambling on his late season improvement and it paid off.

Mauro is a solid run down defender.

Smith had 5.5 sacks the season before he hit free agency. He was fine here, and people were comfortable with him moving on because we'd drafted Campbell.

Mauro is a replacement level player.

Another reason you don't judge guys based on their rookie year.

You can get an idea, but ultimately, one's rookie year is not the end-all-be-all, one way or another.

Also, I never understood the benefit in labeling a player a "bust" after one season.

+1 Antonio Smith is an example of that. How many years was he in the league before he became a top level Dlineman? I know it's not a great example but he's a guy that became a lot better the longer he played. One year means nothing.

My point is people write players off way too soon. Calling him a bust is illogical at this point in his career.

Or rather the interest of those fearless predraft prognosticators, who are more interested in their opinion of him being a bad selection and fulfilling their view rather than him doing well and the Cardinals winning
