This will be the best film out of this summer's blockbusters.

MESA! :thud:
I'm VERY excited for this movie to come out.

Of course, I'll probably get to see it, oh, in about 3 years on dvd...

sigh. I need a man.

If this movie can top Transformers, I'll gladly spend another $9.50 to see it. It just won't happen, as much as I like the series.

That's a pretty heavy statement, considering there have been several great films this summer now (Transformers, Ratatouille, Harry Potter, 1408 and Live Free or Die Hard).

Hence why I put "I hope" ;)

I'm not a Harry Potter or Pixar fan so that cuts down my own personal list, but I do have lofty expectations for the third Bourne film.

i still can't figure out how people survived this movie, much less enjoyed it as much as they seemingly have.

BEGIN THE DOWNLOAD!

You go into it thinking it's a Die Hard movie, you'll probably be a little disappointed. But if you go into it with the idea that it's an action movie with a likable hero, IMO you can't get much better than that this year. I liked Die Hard better than 300, but that's just because 300 was all style and no substance.

I didn't go in thinking it was gonna be Die Hard though - the fact that it was PG-13 and he had a willy-nilly side-kick immediately made me realize that it wasn't gonna be Die Hard. Still, in any good action movie a hero is only as good as his villain and considering the villain was Ryan Seacrest on roids (what a waste of Olyphant who I think is a great actor/potential villain) and the most menacing thing he did was blow up a couple computer dorks, wear all black and say BEGIN THE DOWNLOAD destroyed the movie for me. It had a couple decent set pieces, but even they were nothing special. Now considering that and the fact that it didn't have good bad guy characters or even likable side-characters the movie fell flat on it's face. Hell, I've even been supremely entertained by movies that had poor villains/bad side characters like Bad Boys 2, but that's only because the set pieces were SOOOOO ridiculously goood action-wise that it drove the movie. I didn't feel that was even close to the case with this one.

Well... I liked Maggie Q in it. ;)

i'll give you that - she was and is smoking hot. would have been nice to see her do something besides type on a keyboard. How are we supposed to oggle her while she's sitting down, also all dressed in black, melding into the black and blue room they were sitting it.

seriously, when Olyphant's character came up with his plan, did he decide that the only way people will take us seriously is if we're all dressed in black and our room is painted black and blue because black is supposedly powerful? I could imagine the night before the fire sale was supposed to take place, Olyphant's character reading "Movie Villains for Dummies" in bed before falling asleep in his American Idol PJs.

Opens today. My wife has made sure that I will be there by purchasing the tickets online. Dang technology! I feel like the third wheel on this date. She seems to have a thing for Matt Damon "but only in this series", she tells me.

Interesting. (about this series)

Don't they charge a surcharge to buy tickets online? ********.

I love this series, but will wait for it to come out on HDDVD. I already have the first 2.

Just saw this movie and it kicks a$$! The first 30 minutes or so is action packed and most of the movie is like that. I won't spoil it for anyone but I really liked the ending also. Almost everyone in the audience were clapping at the end. Best movie I have seen this year.

Tip: Don't sit in the front.

This movie was pretty good. A lot of fun and a good, continuing story, tying all 3 movies together. There is a fight scene about halfway in that has to be seen to be believed. Just spectacular.

Pretty good and definitely a recommendation if you enjoyed the first two at all. The screen was almost too big to take it all in in some of the action scenes! Good fun.

I thought it was a great movie. I loved the way they didn't have a time lapse from the 2nd edition.

It isn't often that I make an outlandish prediction that comes true, so I guess I'd better milk this one for all I can.

What a fantastic, fantastic movie. Best one of the three! :notworthy

Now, THIS was a great action/thriller. Fantastic action, good, clever writing and the Moroccan roof-jumping/hand to hand combat set-piece was one the best I've seen in a long time.

Even though I thought the first two movies were well-done, neither of them really sucked me in, but this one grabbed me by the shoulders, shook me and just kept shaking me all throughout it's seemingly brisk 115 minute running time. Great movie. Highly recommended for any action fans out there.

Yeah, my group at work went to see this...was really really intense. Loved that fighting scene as well...when he puts the book to the guys throat and punches it...genius.

there are 2 more bourne novels..

you think they'll make movies of those too?
I've read talk from those involved with the franchise that the door is still open a bit but its going to be noncommittal for a while.

The films don't really follow the novels all that closely (for instance, Supremacy is more like The Bourne Legacy which is the fourth book than any of the others) so the film guys would likely come up with their own material again should they decide to do another one.
