Yea for overall tenure here and production I would say its Chandler jones far and away. Just ended so badly.
I think it is close. The value he got by dumping that mammoth contract in David Johnson can't be overlooked.
Regarding just the play on the field though, I agree with you.

Chandler Jones and DeAndre Hopkins say Hello.
Carson Palmer in 4 years set Cardinal records in most every category & in that span moved into 4th place in career passing yards for the Cardinals, his name is in the ring of honor. Where's CJ & DH name at? They were great trades but not near as valuable as Carson.

Carson was a flash in the pan and certainly doesn't belong in the ROH. Total waste being up there. JMO of course.

Palmer was technically traded but he was about to be released. It was basically a FA signing. Idk about the ring of honor but he finished 2nd in MVP voting behind Brady and was on a similar arc the year prior before getting hurt. That Todd Bowles defense deserved a QB down the stretch.

The literal Buck stops at Michael's wallet.
This. Would anybody here question Monti for giving up a 1st round pick for Myles Garrett? ( just an example).

This team has proven to be in the middle of the pack, which is WAY better than at this time last year. We are a.500 team over the last 18-19 games. Monti could dramatically add to this roster right now, Not only for this year but for the next few seasons to come.

Draft picks are nice but they all are projections. We might have reached a point to add proven and establish talent. I’m afraid Monti is hampered by Bidwill’s wallet and will be forced as seeing Williams and Robinson returning as the additions we need.

One first rounder for Garrett? You get that done in a heartbeat.

Garrett also added the following regarding the potential for surgery:

"We talk about [surgery after the season] but that's something that we'll talk about further down the line," Garrett said. "The issue itself is something that I'll probably have to deal with for however long I end up playing. So it's about managing that and playing through it."

The best the Browns get offered are conditional picks, probably one in 2025 and one in 2026. The Browns would likely want more because of the dead money they would accrue and his value to the franchise.

Chandler has set records too. Most sacks in history. Single game sack record etc.

It's not like he hasn't done anything here.

He's not chopped liver for sure & it was a damn good trade, however, the QB is what drives most teams & Carson Palmer was the trade that got our franchise headed for some exciting seasons. I loved the CJ & DH trades, I just think it's a no brainer that the CP trade had more impact.

What is funny is that I don't think I would. He has injuries to both feet that he is working through which is a multi year concern.
Didn't know that...at 28, I think that changes the equation a bit, and maybe conditional picks are the route to go.

Impact, probably. The question was about value though. They are closely related, but not the same IMO.

If it's value, I still pick Carson Palmer, no one on a football team holds more value than the QB imo. This could be discussed many different ways. One could say that CJ held more value as an edge rusher & the same for Hopkins at WR. Keim gave up very little to get all 3 players, I'll definitely give the man props for that.
