Red zone offense: 6th in TDs with 63.3%, 4th in scoring at 93.3%. Defense: 10th in TDs at 48.6%, 7th in scoring 80.0%.
The red zone offense has been outstanding. Scoring TDs instead of kicking field goals wins games. The Jets kicked field goals; the Cardinals scored touchdowns.

Both Kyler Murray and Jonathan Gannon have entered the awards-season chat. Murray is currently seventh in the MVP race on ESPN Bet at +2200. He's also third in the comeback player of the year race at +900.Murray went from 40-1 to 22-1 to win MVP after Sunday's win.
Gannon is seventh in the coach of the year race on ESPN Bet at +800. Gannon was 18-1 heading into Sunday's win over the Jets. He was 20-1 two weeks ago, 35-1 the week before that and 60-1 before their four-game winning streak.
Gannon being 7th is criminal, IMO. He should have been 7th with the crap team he coached to 4 wins last year. Dude is good at his job!

I think you let both of them finish this year and test the market. Then bring Budda back on a 4 year- top 10 safety contract and Conner a 2 year top 10 rb contract.
Chuba Hubbard just got a 4 year $33.2M extension that makes him the 9th highest paid RB by annual average ($8.3M). With $15M guaranteed, he could be cut after two seasons with ~4.5M in dead money but $6M in cap savings.

Age is a big difference (25.5 vs 29.5) but performance last season and through 10 games this year is reasonably comparable:

Last season:
Conner: 13 games, 1205 yards from scrimmage, 5 TDs.
Hubbard 17 games (12 starts), 1135 yards from scrimmage, 7 TDs.

This year:
Conner 159-697-5 rushing (4.4 yds/rush), 24/30-247-0 receiving (10.7 yds/catch), 944-5 total yds & TDs.
Hubbard 161-818-6 rushing {5.1 yds/rush), 30/35-124-1 receiving (4.1 yds/catch), 942-7 total yds & TDs.

regarding Conner and Budda

there is a real truth in management: "you get the behavior in the organization that you reward"

so what do you do with a 30 year old RB and a guy at a non premium position--

both exhibiting the behavior you want in your organization?

the first part says "let em go", the second part says "pay them"

its not an easy one to answer

Is there a world where we bring him back? Him leaving after this season has seemed like a foregone conclusion, but with the way he’s playing, I’d hate to see him go. Signing older guys at non premium positions may not me Monti’s style, but I say bring back Budda & Connor. These guys are the leaders.
Thompson should be the odd man out.

Alright so you guys say sign budda and Conner. What kind of contract do you sign them to?

I still think unless they sign short term team friendly contracts you let them walk. You just can’t give ground breaking contracts to 29 and 30 year old safeties and running backs. It’s just not a recipe for long term success
Connor may take a short term but not Baker.

A quietly important piece of the Cardinals recent success: RG Trystan Colon. In 5 1/2 games since Will Hernandez's season-ending injury, he's allowed zero sacks and just five pressures. Also hasn't committed a single penalty this year.
For some unknown reason he’s much better on the right

the holes on D will show up when the Cards play better teams.

I do believe the D has improved since the season began: the young secondary guys have really gotten better and are buying time for the rush to get to the QB.
I believe you might be right. The good news is the offense seems to be hitting on all cylinders.

The question for Budda is, does 4 years, 60 mil get it done? And, as the Cardinals, is that a deal you want to do?

My concern with Budda is will his playing style hold up as he gets older? And if not, what value is there in a hard hitting DB that has poor ball skills?

I'd prefer a 2 year deal and see where we are then, 3 max.

Worth remembering this won't be close to $100m in the end.

Budda, JC, Kyzir, Will Hernandez, Evan Brown, Colon, Collier, Browning, Dortch, Lopez and Luketa are guys I imagine they will want to keep around.

Budda, JC, Kyzir, Hernandez, Brown and Browning are likely to be $45-50m on their own. Lopez likely $3-4m. Collier $2m. Dortch $3-4m. It soon vanishes.

Why. They have a ton of cap space already. It's always an option but I don't see a reason to do it next season.
well, im thinking there is quite alot of players under contract that become free agents after this season that we will hope to retain. That is going to take a big bite out of the 100+ million in cap space

The Cardinals could sign all of their FAs and still have $50-60 left to play with in FA. Remember that they still have $18M to use this season.
