Take it easy, I'm pre-law.

What's the difference? :D

As for this movie, like I always do, I look at what the critics think and if they think it stinks, I'll watch it and I usually disagree with the so called experts. This hold true with this film. I've seen many reviews and fan reviews panning this film and it seems to me that most don't get it. Now I'm not one of those 'if you don't like this movie, you just didn't get it' people but you really did have to understand the in joke to enjoy this movie and what's beautiful about it, it isn't subtle about it. For instance:

When they're in the cellar...a cellar that happened to spontaneously open a la Evil Dead and everyone goes down the stairs anyway and starts playing with the trinkets, when the girl starts reading the diary and Marty tells her "do not read the Latin" and you hear the voices telling her to read it a loud, this should have given you an indication that this movie wasn't serious. Then the out and out cliche'd victims: the *****, athlete, fool, the brain, and the virgin with the virgin death being optional(because as we all know the virgin never dies in horror movies) stood out like a sore thumb also. The final satirical nail being that the guy who bet on the merman dies at the hands of the merman was the cherry on the sundae.

I also loved the direct Evil Dead references with the molesting trees and deadites being on the big board. My one disappointment was:

When all of the monsters are being released at the end, we don't get to see Kevin. Oh, and the murderous unicorn was genius.
