The Cards aren't winning the division by default

The Rams and the Seahawks are much better than they have been the last couple of years. The Cardinals aren't going to win this division just because the rest of the division is that bad. If they don't bring it every week, the chances are very good that they'll miss the playoffs.

I dont think anyone thought that anyway. Has been said all along an 8-8 9-7 type record would prob get it done.

That Rams win is looking better every week too.

I wouldn't say the Rams and Seahawks are much better so much as I would say the league, especially the NFC, is just that much less consistent this year.

Agreed, both the Rams and Seattle are hanging around, and we're capable of losing to either of them--especially our next game, in Seattle. Seattle is always a tough place to play, it's loud and they play much better at home. The noise may limit some of our WR formations down inside the red zone also.

In any case, I don't think the division is a gimme for us. Not by any stretch, not with the way we've played in some of our games already. We can't let up, we have to focus, and we have to beat Seattle in Seattle and take the division lead @ 4-2.

This season really has been a trip. You never know what teams are going to show up. As far as the Cards go, at least we yanked DA out of the line up. Already mentioned in here, that win at the Rams casa might be a determining factor. Next week will be a huge win for the Cards. :)

We are also capable of beating them and already beat the Rams

Rams sack Rivers seven times? That is some pressure. We couldn't get close enough to Rivers to read the name on his jersey.

This year's team is capable of beating any other team in the NFL. They are also capable of getting the snot beat out of them by any other team in the NFL.

There were a lot of people who did think winning the division would be a cake walk. In fact they believed it so strongly they thought we could win with DeWreck Anderson at QB. But now who knows? The West teams get beat 41-14 one week and then beat one of last year's top teams the next.

A crazy season no doubt.

I don't think there's been all that much love for Anderson. I thought we had a chance to win this division when Leinart was still the QB and I thought the same when Derek was named as starter. I still think we can win the division. The only time I stopped believing we had a chance to win the division was AFTER Derek had played a game or two.

Watching the NFL West games today, I'm firmly convinced of one thing. We could finish anywhere between 1st and last in the West. Not very insightful but this division defies logic IMO.

How do you make sense out of Arizona beating the Saints but getting blown out by the Chargers? How do you make sense out of the Rams beating the Redskins and Chargers but getting destroyed by the Lions? How do you make sense out of the most talented team in the division (supposedly) losing 5 straight before claiming their first win? And that takes us to Seattle who might be the toughest team in the division to pin down. Anyone who'd make a futures bet on this division right now is either psychic or an idiot. I'm betting on us to win it, BTW.

Talk to me after seeing our team after the bye.

Not sayin' anything smack talk wise, but I am very interested in our team after this time off.

By the way.

Who is 3-2, atop the division after losing 4 All-pro starters, and spent the first 6 weeks of the season going through 2 starting QB's, and just beat the defending Super Bowl Champs with their new UDFA rookie QB in his first game?

A little credit where it is due...... just a little is all I ask.

Disagree my friend. I may eat some crow on that though.....

I agree with you though..SF is done. Singletary is simply not a coach...he is a glorified motivational speaker. Him and Tony Robbins would do well together. With him at the helm, the team is going no where fast. I was listening to Adam Schein this morning. He echoed my sentiments exactly after a caller asked about his future with the team.

They have to crawl over 3 teams so it won't be easy but I think they still finish with at least 7 wins. And, IMO, that puts them close enough to be in the argument. I doubt they'll win the division but I also doubt they'll finish last.

If the Cards hadn't lost 41-7 and 41-10 I'd agree with you. But getting beat like that with 4 all-pro starters on defense, no way.

They won't get to 7 games. They're currently, what, 1-5? With 10 games remaining, they'd have to go 6-4 down the stretch, and I don't see it.

Suprisingly enough, to me at least, that team hasn't quit on Singletary just yet. If they do, all bets are off but if Mike hangs on to both his job and his team I think they sweep the Rams, split with us and beat the Seahawks. That puts 7 wins comfortably within reach.

You sir,are paying attention. Week 6 Rams would destroy week 1 Rams in a head-to-head.

Division is wide open, minus SF.

Am very glad we played the Rams on the road early.

Hate that SF (and St. Louis and Seattle) won today.

The Rams are going to beat SF in St. Louis. I said that after week one, so I stick by it.

You could be right. The Rams have certainly played better at home but the loss of Clayton is big, IMO. Unless the 49ers have just packed it in by then I think the absence of a decent receiving corp will take it's toll. You can only give it to Jackson so many times before you use the guy up and by week 15 he may not have much left. He's carried the ball 76 times in the last 3 games (and it's going up each week - 22, 25, 29) and that's just too much to expect from the guy, IMO.

I think the Rams are done being the doormat in this division but you have to be able to pass the ball in today's game. I love Amendola but Bradford needs more weapons and he's not likely to find them until next year at the soonest. I sure wish we had their pass rush though.

It would not shock me at all if the 49ers traveled to the east coast and lost their 10AM game at Carolina next week, giving the Panthers their first win. In fact, I kinda think it will happen. They might still be hungover celebrating their big win over the Raiders.
